Advise please. Transformer, The Prime or netbook?

I've only had the Transformer a short time but I love it already. For me the keyboard is a must because if I want to type something in facebook or other message boards that I visit, I like the keys rather than the touch. For playing Angry Birds, I like to remove the tablet and just use the touchscreen. It does great on wifi for email and any websites I have wanted to visit. So I think it's great. I actually got it because I was playing Wordfeud with my son-in-law on my Droid3. The screen was just too small so I started looking at tablets. I think the Transformer is perfect for my needs.

I agree with Barbara.
I don't ALWAYS want a keyboard, so a netbook is out for me. And the current issues with the Prime, which I'm sure will get worked out, would keep me from getting it right now also.
So that leaves the Transformer, which is a great device.
Personally I use a bluetooth keyboard rather than the dock for the TF, lots less money and works just as well. Of course it doesn't add battery life to the the TF like the dock does, but for me it's a fair trade.

I just bought the original Transformer and I have to say it's just an amazing device. I got the dock and I don't regret it at all. It's a speedy device first off, I WAS gonna get the Galaxy 10.1 but it lagged from doing simple steps like moving between the homescreens. Second, I believe this is the best tab right now behind the Prime for obvious reasons (quad). I'm so glad I waited out and got this because it beats the Galaxy by a mile. I'm typing this on the Asus right now and everything is so nice and smooth. There's also an called thumb keyboard in the market and its probably the best keyboard I've encountered yet. Hope you decide to get the transformer.

I think that you would be happy with the TF101 based on what you described, and how you like screen input. I just got mine last night, CompUSA had refurbished units for $299.00, and I couldn't resist.

I absolutely love it. My phone is the Droid 3, and while I like it a lot too, the screen size on the transformer is well, just wow.

I haven't ordered the keyboard yet, but I probably will eventually, since the attaching keyboard is one of the things I liked about the transformer.

I've been using the trial of Swiftkey (the tablet version) and really like it for typing on the screen itself.

I also think the TF is a great device. My wife bought an Acer Iconia A100 but it doesn't compare to my TF. The TF is much smoother with a better screen. Her device has many issues mine doesn't. I do have the keyboard but only use it infrequently when I need to create a long document. From my experience, I'd recommend that you buy a TF!

I think the flexibility of being able to add/remove the dock gives the best of both worlds and I really think this is a major plus point of the TF. Bluetooth keyboards are fine but remember using BT will drain the battery faster as opposed to the additional battery in the dock doing the opposite.

From what you say you want to use it for then the original TF rather than the quad core Prime should easily meet your needs.

Bought mine on Oct 11 and have never regretted it for a second
