Root Phone Slowing Down

So over the past few months, I've been noticing my phone (CDMA) hasn't been running as quickly as it did when I first rooted it. At first I thought it was just MIUI and GO launcher together. So i ditched go, and used the stock MIUI launcher. Still was slow. I've now been back on Oxygen for the past month or so. Was still bad (using Go again). So I wiped, reflashed, and tried the stock launcher. Didn't make a difference. So I went back to GO. Now to give as much info as possible....When I say slow, it's doing thngs like: After being on the internet for a while, when I press the home button, it takes a couple moments to go to the home screen, and then I have to wait 1-3 seconds for the things on my homescreen to appear. This is the thing that annoys me the most. THe other things aren't nearly as bothersom. It also does things like jutter on the lockscreen, and when I do unlock, sometimes I also have to wait for things to appear.

What I have on my phone: My homescreens (3) have nothing but widgets on them. Even the icons are widgets because of folder oranizer. I have beautiful widgets, search bar, calender and espn. I have around 5 thousand text. I have 105 user apps.

Now what can I do to get my desire running well again. I'm contemplating running an RUU, and starting over. Rather not take that time. So I'm coming here.

do you use titanium backup?

Yes
if you do, do you have set-cpu?

Yes

if you do have setcpu are you restoring it each time?

It's set to restore on boot. Clocked to 1113

if you are restoring it each time are you making sure the settings you have set for the cpu are not too throttled or on a crap governor like conservative or smartass/smartassv2

I use the OnDemand Governor which i was told is the best

I have the exact same lag as you describe, I've actually had to pull the battery before because I got stuck with just a black screen, my buttons lit up but nothing else, I've noticed it seems faster when I reboot but it doesn't last long, so I'm guessing an app somewhere is using available memory and slowing it down, it's been worse of late, so could well be go launcher, I only have BW widget and my allowance so it's not widgets slowing it down, I think it maybe time for a fresh install, I might go back to custom mtd aswell. I fancy having a look at the newest room offerings, I can't see me leaving dgb for good though. Don't worry Dan ;-)

Daemon Controller reacts much faster to Screen off/on than any java app will which makes it much more efficient
Heres the XDA page as well
[APP] andrev_oc - an alternative to virtuous_oc - xda-developers
yes i read that closely after the 1st time you mentioned it and still all this does is use a similar scaling mechanism what havs axi kernels already use. then has an app that controls screen state by polling which imo is probably slightly quicker to wake but probably less efficient on battery. this certainly wouldnt be affecting real time use once android is awake and trying to perform tasks which is the point of this thread

dont get too caught up in the c++ c# java war. android is built on a java base with linux, just because its built using a certain language it does not mean it is more efficient. that all depends on the dev

out of interest, do you know much about coding?
