Help File from PC to GNexus

I couldn't re-install drivers or update them or anything on my XP, USB is giving me too much trouble, so decided to go wireless. I got Wifi File Transfer Pro (paid), it works great. I just enter the IP address in my browser and I choose which pics/songs to send over to my phone, or VV. I don't know how the free version works, but this one is flawless for me.

Droid Explorer works great for me; it uses adb (which you can either have preinstalled, or it will download all the adb stuff it needs during installation, iirc). This even worked when my drivers were all outa whack... I can't believe I don't see plugs for this program more often... it's awesome. I haven't speedtested though to see what is faster, MTP vs ADB. I suspect ADB from command line will be fastest.

I'm on windows xp too, and I had huge issues getting everything to work. Finally plugging in the phone to usb and opening windows update did the trick, as microsoft saw that I needed some hardware drivers.

i am using MyPhoneExplorer. very easy to use - drag and drop etc. several ways to connect.

I found that I had to have USB Debugging off to transfer files.

I know I had issues connecting when I was unlocking and rooting my phone. The Samsung drivers didn't work for crap. The rooting forums all recommended installing PDAnet as the drivers for that program were the only ones that seemed to work for everyone.

PdaNet -- USB Tether/Bluetooth DUN for Android

I suggest installing PDAnet on your PC. Once that is done, plug in your GN and your computer should recognize it and install the drivers and all should be good in the hood.

Once the drivers are installed, you can uninstall PDAnet if you don't want it...the drivers will remain.

I tried all of the above and none of them worked.. lol.. droid exporer worked for just one file.. i mean: i transferred one file and then the rest of the files just wont transfer, but i already can do that with the regular windows explorer, it will recognize the phone i try to transfer 2 or 3 pics, one transfers just fine the rest just wont do it:(... then i have to dismount and mount again the phone to transfer another file:thinking:
