Case Review for the Droid Bionic - Cruzerlite TPU - YouTube

(If you click through, it's in 720p!)

Here are a few cases for the Droid Bionic that I got a few months ago. They're actually pretty slick, and coming from a guy who doesn't usually like cases, that's a lot. They're probably some of the best cases I've owned for my devices.

In perspective, every other case, be it for a phone or even my PSP, has gone into storage because they've been so annoying.

This one is the opposite of annoying. It's actually saved my phone a few times from drops that would normally dent up the metal on the phone.

I'm a big fan of the Diztronic TPU Cases (I like the matte black one), and the one you reviewed looks extremely similar. In fact I wonder if Cruzerlite and Diztronic might share the same manufacturer? Or maybe it's just that they are both made out of the same substance? (TPU = Thermoplastic Polyurethane) Diztronic also makes a version that fits the extended battery.

Nice review video. These cases look pretty nice. The only other one I'm considering is the one that has a fold out kickstand since it would be nice to add that functionality to the Bionic. But if I don't go with that one, these Cruzerlite cases look nice.

My dad has the one from the Verizon store, and it works pretty well. It's all plastic, so it isn't to my liking, but it works for him because it clasps to his waist like his old BlackBerry case did.

They do look similar. Although I don't remember a matte case on their site, as a huge majority are glossy.

I also have the Diztronic Cases Also. between the 2 I like the Diztronic one. I am going to order a case tonight for the extended battery.

I love my smoke case

I decided to go with a TPU case for my Bionic after seeing this. Not a brand name as far as I know but same design with the built in volume buttons and everything. I always had the hard plastic cases for my Ally and they did their job but eventually the tabs that hold them on would break, and most times when the phone was dropped the two halves of the case would explode off the phone and make an even bigger mess to pick up. The flexible TPU material should be a nice change.

I can't speak for the Cruzerlite TPU case, but I just got my Diztronic TPU case, and LOVE it! It's soft enough so that when you put it on a hard surface, like the center console in your car, it does not slide around, but is not soft enough to grab onto your pocket when you're pulling your phone out (like silicone cases do). It also fits perfectly in the vehicle mount (with the insert removed). I returned the Verizon case because it did not fit well into the vehicle mount, and was way too big (I don't have an extended battery). So, for $10 from Amazon, the Diztronic TPU is a great case IMHO.

The brand of the case I got off of eBay ended up being Fosmon. Sounds like these various brands of TPU cases are all pretty good. My case literally just took its first test about ten seconds ago, got my USB cord plugged into the PC tower down on the floor, connected to the Bionic on my desktop, moved my leg, caught the cord, and the Bionic got pulled off the desk and met the floor! No carpeting in this room either. Landed on one of the soft corners of the TPU case with a muffled little thud and the phone is fine. :) A hard plastic case would already have a nice scrape or chip in it. This TPU material is great.
