Hi, I just bought an evo 4g but it won't boot. I know I need to reload the software, i've tried clearing the memory and hard resetting the phone. Its not rooted so wont boot into recovery.

Tried the PC36img.zip but I dont think it works with my HBoot (says in compatible when boot into bootloader) and I've been searching forever for a list of compatible .zips with my HBoot. Please help me, thanks.

so does it have power? is it a bootloop? what happens exactly when you turn it on?

you can try this ruu:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8709935/PC3...15.00.11.19_NV_1.90_release_161482_signed.zip

this one matches with your baseband and hboot. and make sure that you name the file correctly by deleting everything in the name except for PC36IMG. do not add an extra zip as windows hides extensions.

PC36IMG is a generic file name so you need to be more specfic of what file you were trying to run

The phone acts like it boots up but right after the White Sprint screen and boot-up the screen goes black, but the backlight on the LCD is still on. I know the LCD is good, I just replaced it, so leaves me to believe its software related.

I'm downloading the suggested RUU link and i'll report back, thank you ocnbrze I've read alot of your posts from other threads while trying to figure this out. Your a very helpful person. And thank you everyone else.

I have tried both of the links provided to me, and both of them come up with the same results as before. It says Wrong or No image in Bootloader. Any other ideas?

What are you naming the file? Is it PC36IMG exactly?. Is the file on the root of your sd card?(the upper most level)..Can you explain the process your using?

yes routerunner is correct. make sure that you name it correctly by erasing everything but the PC36IMG part of the name. do not add aditional zip to the name as windows hides extensions. and make sure that you have the file in the root of the sd card. that means not in any folder, just on the card.

Yes I re-named it to "PC36IMG", no extra .zip or anything like that. And yes it is on the Root of my SD card, no in another folder. Process: Download file, re-name it, put it on the SD card, put it in my Evo, Pwr + Volume down, inside of bootloader it automatically looks for the file.
