Root [ROM][WIP]CM7.2.0 RC1-BobZ

Ive tried everything and I still can't get mms to work

Which MetrOff.zip file did you patch? I used this 1.3 version (attached)

Just to be sure you did all these
- No other SMS app has taken over function for MMS
- Patch that MetrOFF file in recovery
- Open APN and set password (click menu and Save to confirm changes)
- Selected the APN radio button to enable it
- Deleted telephony.db
- Reboot
- See if you're getting a reliable 3G signal (or 1x if you're still on it)

At the very least I had an issue where MMS wasn't working for a couple of recipients but it may have been a MetroPCS server side delay because after a few minutes I was able to receive and send messages just fine.

Im just throwing this out there but it could also be a PRL issue, where you may either have to update or revert to an older one depending on your location. If you do have a newer PRL, double check in your CDMA network preferences that CDMA/EvDo are selected.

For now I'm out of ideas regarding fixes on Bobz ROM.

How is this rom in comparison to reppards? I cknstnly get reboots and force closes on reppards

Reppards last build was my second Rom after sense rom. It ran ok I had issues with the accelerometer but it never ran anything like this. Bobs build is much faster, smaller and has many features over rappard and he still updates it! Bobs is far and away the best CM7 build for the optimus m.

His new update is the best one :D no reboots at all now and I'm running smartassv2 at 806.4MHz and I love the custom carrier implemented into settings. Good job Bob!

I installed rooted update 2.2.2 ROM before installing his new build, idk if that might have fixed issues or not, either way I'm happy my phone doesn't reboot :D and it's running very smoothly :D:D:D

Edit: Tried stressing out the processor with a flash video playing from youtube (not mobile version), instead of it rebooting, it self-closes Browser. Way better than waiting 5 minutes for the thing to reboot...

Remember after you flash a new rom you have to use battery calibration too

How is that working for you?

I still haven't gotten any reboot issues with any app.

But I have a problem completely unrelated to the processor, apps that are around 1MB don't want to install when I have 104 MB free on internal storage and 4.5 GB free on my sd card. I have a post about it on the main forum for this phone here: http://androidforums.com/lg-optimus-m/491680-insufficient-storage.html

Wow that's pretty awesome. I tried it, but it reboot within the first 2 hours, not sure if related or not, but I made a back up and stopped using it. I also had an issue with the network. Like I know about the MMS issue, but I tried the patch and sorta got the MMS to work (like it would send and receive images) though it was slow, and the patch also affected how the browsers worked too...like it just wouldn't connect to the internet. Anywyas, I'm glad you got the phone working. :)

Kelso added something to his rom to make browsing faster that's why

I know with Kelso's ROM I flashed the governor off thing, but I didn't know that it would make a big difference, like loading full browser pages took about 10secs on 1x. Where as on this rom (with that patch) it would take about the same amount of time to access a mobile site...that's if it even connected. ...strange. I wouldn't think it made such a difference.

I just flashed to the new ver 2 nights ago I installed most of my apps that night but now when I download something of the market or update an installed app. I get package error during the install

I also had the same problem when attempting to install apps from the market, also had the insufficient space error. Go back to page 12 of this thread and follow the instructions given by Bob on post# 576. Works perfectly. Thanks to Bob.

Here are my experiences; I flashed this last night. I'm having difficulty with selections. In particular swype. I installed using the beta installer, and then when I try to select using the keyboard select it doesn't maintain the selection. I've rebooted several times to no avail. I've also done the fix permissions thing. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I love using swype and really miss it when I don't have it.

Make sure it is installed on the phone, not sdcard.

I just checked titanium backup (it has the nice little icon to tell if an app is installed on the phone it the SD card) and swype is installed on the phone. I am using dark tremors a2sd beta 4. In the past (using reppards ROM and kelso's 2.2.2 ROM) I've had no problems with a2sd and swype.

Here is another issue that I'm having: when I select to do a reboot (either from the long press of the power button and selecting reboot, or using the app Quick Boot and selecting reboot) while the phone is plugged in, it doesn't actually reboot. It'll just shut down and then I see the charging battery display. I have to unplug the phone, and then i can turn it on. If I try to turn it on while plugged it, it doesn't turn on. Also, if I plug it in on either of the lg screens (the small one or the larger red lg) it'll just stay off at the charging batter display. I have to wait until its at the CM animation to plug it back in. Not a big deal, just a noticeable bug.

I am also still having no joy with swype and MMS. I've tried all the options (flashing the metroff fix, apns, deleting the telephony.db and so on).

There seems to be problems when I select to turn off wifi, place into airplane mode, etc from the notification bar. Quite often, the selection doesn't take, or show that it's taken. If I select airplane mode, it doesn't show, and so i try a reboot, and sure enough, once the phone is up and running again, it's in airplane mode. I can then tap it and get out of airplane mode.

Other wise, this is a great ROM. I like the smoothness of it, and I'm oc stable at 768 using the ondemand governor.

These are a lot of issues! I can say these are not occurring on my end. Have you done a complete wipe and flash or did you update the newer ROM on top of an older one.

I had a couple of issues at first but it wasn't until I did a total wipe (including reformatting the partitions) that it started working as it should. To be fair I also went back to Bobz older 11-13-11 release since I was experiencing some inconsistencies with the latest one.
