I am wondering how many Primes with defects are out there, as I am debating whether or not to return my 3rd prime for these reasons.

My first Prime had specs in the lens, came with scratches on the back.

Second had hazing/fog on the inside of the lens and some backlight bleed.

Third has same lens problem as second except less noticeable, and the screen is slightly crooked.

FOURTH - Employee at Future Shop opened a brand new Prime for me to inspect... lol I guess it was in the same batch as the third one I bought. Had the same screen crookedness problem.

So please inspect your Prime!

You should get your Prime replaced, then after you get it, do NOT take it out of the box.

Get the box and put it in a ziplock bag. Then take that and wrap it in seran wrap. Then get one of those vacuum seal devices and vacuum seal your bag. Then lastly, put the finished product on display on a shelf somewhere.

No, I don't have 'defects' on my prime.

You need to work more on your /sarcasm, when you pay this much for a product that is supposed to last awhile, it better be Damn near perfect. I am a tech junkie/early adopter and i have had many things either before or on release date, and never had i ever seen so many individual issues. So unless you have something constructive to add, keep your hands in your pockets and stay away from the keyboard...

Are you kidding me? These transformer complaints are tiny compared to what you see on other boards when products are launched. Go over the the Apple boards when a product is released to the public and all you see are complaints. As vocal as they are its still just a tiniest fraction of the overall sales. Most people only come to these forums when they have an issue, not when their product works perfectly.

Thank you for defaulting to ios product like everyone else does, great job. Since i wasn't talking about apple, it doesn't apply to my statement.

I had the zune before public release, acer iconia a500, HTC Droid eris on launch, motorola Droid before launch and counless other electronics and gadgets. Never have I seen such widespread problems...in fact I even have the first 4g EVO, it had small issues for sure, but nothing like this...

All of those gadgets you mentioned are not original anything. They are all copied from someone else. I mention Apple because they launch original equipment and products. Really a Zune? LOL

Wow, just wow. Apple copies themselves more then anything else. Hold on a sec i need to run quick to jump on the apple fanboy train because they just released the same thing again but with more "wi-fis and 2 more gbs". What station did you buy your ticket at?

I'll take the first gen prime before taking the first first gen Evo. Fortunately, root made the Evo one of the best phones and with continued developer support, it's still one of the better phones out there today. Hopefully, developer support for the prime will come along after we have an unlocked bootloader.

I have to agree. I'm a junkie for new tech toys, and if you inspect any of them long and hard enough you will find defects. I really shouldn't say defects but more like anomalies. Defects to me are more of something that actually hinders a device. Lets face it most electronics are built in places like China where manufacturing standards are a little lower. I guess maybe I've just gotten used to it over the last 20 years, but I don't inspect my devices with a magnifying glass. If everything works great and there's no dents or scratches I'm fine.

Look, I am no Apple fanboy but they ARE original innovators. ipod, touch screen phones, Netbooks= Air. They really are the only company that I can think of that releases innovative products that have a base large enough to draw on.....and all the must havers become beta testers for them.

Where are the innovative "lenovo" product launches? or the never before seen Dell launches? What? Microsoft is coming out with a new, never before seen.....what?

i will have to disagree on CURRENT Apple innovation..ie there is none. Every "new" apple launch includes products that look and feel like the previous iteration. What Jobs did for Apple (10 years ago i think) was brilliant, and i doubt his roadmap for product development will help even in the next 5 years. At least with android (not a fan boy by any means, i do have some apple product) every new device as fragmented as it is had tons of new features and constant innovation in software. I feel the 6 month google dev cycle proves this. ICS is no real big update over HC, but there is J labeled software coming soon...lets see how that unfolds...

I had a touch screen phone for about a year before the first iPhone came out. The iPhone was nothing original. What made it "original" is that it was marketed to the masses instead of business users.

Palm Treo line had resistive touch screens (albeit with stylus) and were out years before the iPhone. Apple may have "improved" upon the touch screen, but they weren't the first. And they weren't first to multitask either. Windows Mobile did it fairly well years ago (pre-Android even).

I never said Apple was the first. They just improved on what was there.... kind of like Android...
