Exchanging razr for razr maxx...?

I would exchange if given the opportunity. Otherwise, the Razr hasn't given me any battery problems. I'm out all day and it has never died on me. I use it pretty frequently, but have a car charger and sometimes use my iPod Touch if I get nervous.

Idk, thats just my personal opinion. Selling on eBay and buying on eBay probably wouldn't even out, you might end up paying what you would for a new one at VZW. If you're willing then, go for it.

They are not; the maxx back will not fit on the razr. There is a similar thread on xda and a video of someone trying to do the upgrade this way.

Can you provide links/references to this? Thus far all I found on XDA is this:
xda-developers - View Single Post - New Razr Maxx battery for standard Razr?

Which is hardly conclusive. It states that the Maxx is thicker and that a Maxx battery won't fit in a Razr (duh) but doesn't mention putting a Maxx back plate on a Razr. it does mention the front piece is identical.

Thus far, all I've seen is a lot of speculation and no conclusive answers. I'm optimistically hoping the only difference would be the back plate and battery as this would be much more efficient manufacturing. Fingers crossed and time will tell...

Hum. Now i see the post above where they say it works about 95% (door around sim card is not perfect); not sure wha the youtube guy did wrong...

Obviously the thing here is for moto or verizon to offer the upgrade. Would be good for public relations; though that seems a weak point of moto.

Seriously? I can't believe Motorola made the Razr without a removable battery, that sucks! Hell not having a removable battery is the biggest knock on the iPhone IMO.

My 1st Android phone was the Droid X. Having cone from a Blackberry, I found the battery life of the DX to be practically insulting. So I bought the extended battery, came to the realization that with a 4.3 inch screen and everything my new Android phone did that my Curve never dreamed of doing, and came to terms with the fact that I couldn't just unplug in the morning and go all day long like I was used to doing. After that the DX & I had a great relationship. But after a year, I yearned for an Android device with an unlocked bootloader. So I got an LG G2X.

That was a fantastic phone. ROMers wet dream! And with the 4 inch screen, I was able to make it last as long with the stock battery as the DX lasted with the extended battery. Sadly though, someone walked off witb that phone, and having just moved up here to Canada, they didn't have that phone yet. So I went with a HTC Sensation, as I'd always been a fan of HTC designs.

Over all, this is a pretty decent device. But one characteristic that I'd always heard about HTC phones is definitely true when it comes to this device anyways, the battery life is SHOCKINGLY INEPT!!! Oh no I'm not even kidding, it takes away from all the other positives, which are many! But no matter how awesone this thing might be, I can't get into a phone that you have to leave plugged in all day long. 1250 mAh battery in a dual core, 4G, 4.3 inch screen device... BRILLIANT!

So I came across a Motorola Razr for $399 and thought I'd research it a little. When I left Motorola, I swore I'd never buy another one of their phones until they decided to make nice with the Android community & start unlocking their bootloaders. But I thought I'd heard a rumor that they were starting to maybe do just that, so I stopped in to see if that was the case with the Razr, only to find out that the battery isn't even replaceable??? Does Moto have an Apple complex or something???

Is the bootloader at least unlocked?

This is true, I've been looking for one on ebay because I don't want it bad enough to use my upgrade, and they're going for $600 and up. That's not much of a savings over buying it brand new off-contract.
