which phone?

i upgraded to the galaxy nexus last week...and returned it today. whilst it is a great phone and tbh im sad im returning it, i couldnt get a signal with it :( on both vodafone and orange the maximum i could get was 2 bars, and connecting to 3g was a rarity I'm not keeping a phone that i cant use properly. back to the trusty desire for me!!

now to start looking at new phones again

You may have been a bit quick to to dismiss the phone.
You may even have had a faulty unit.

The signal strength bars are indicators not a calibrated meter. My Desire works perfectly well with one bar showing.
I've even used when it is reporting "No Service" ( it does of course spring to life once a call is initiated)

Did you try using the Nexus when it "only" had 2 bars.

Thats the developer aspect of the device. You can literally just download source code and compile it. Thats what draws me to that phone... However, SD CARD!!

Does this mean that unlike the Desire. if someone compiled a ROM that wasn't like a standard ROM, it would have full functionality ie, Camera that works to its full potential?
or am i just misunderstanding.

I decided to keep it, messed phones4u around abit but hey.

It seems to be working just fine now, getting a good strength HSDPA (or however it goes) so im happy with that. youtube seems to take a while to load but i think the app is a bit dodgy anyway (even on wifi). i understand HSDPA to be faster than 3G and i think that i was that used to seeing the desire 3G-ing that i though the signal was poorer. (HSDPA is faster isnt it?)

After all that...fantastic phone, just wish the standard of android games were iphone quality, but theyre getting there!! glad i chose this.
