Data issues today?

Anyone been seeing any data issues over the past few days? I've been dropping data a lot yesterday and today, having to flip airplane mode off and on or reboot to get it back...never had issues like this before.

Granted it might have come back on its own, perhaps I was impatient...but still...

ok, is anyone NOT having issues with 3g? i was in a 4g area most of the day and was fine, then on my way home (into a 3g only market) i dropped to no data and have stayed there since i got home. i had no data for a good portion of the ride home as well (as i drove through 3g only areas).

nothing has been able to get my data back...i've tried data off/on, airplane mode on/off, reboot, cdma only radio...NOTHING has worked. i have full four bars of signal and -75 dbm, and no data.

it's not a network issue. 3 of my friends (i live in a 3g only area) had 3g service just fine tonight, including one other gnex owner. i'm gonna try to flash the old radio back and see if that fixes it, if not i guess i'm going back to stock and taking it in tomorrow for a replacement.

really, REALLY pisses me off that a phone that's less than two months old just dies out of nowhere like this...

I didn't believe it myself either. In my hometown, I have nearly perfect service.

But I've driven to two separate locations this weekend (both near big cities) and have lost connection altogether. My buddy with a POS Curve 3G was pulling down full signal on his device and I couldn't even send out a text

This is beginning to become worrisome.....

Either that or sammys weak radios lol.

How are you liking the maxx bro?

Honestly its pretty fantastic. My biggest problem with the Nexus isn't ICS even though its a little buggy its that the hardware just doesn't seem up to the standards of other devices like the Rezound or Razr. Sure the screen is nice but it seems like Samsung always has to to add some lesser components like 3G/4G radios, cheaper quality plastics, etc. to keep the cost down due to the expensive screens. I know Samsung has the ability to create a knock it out of the park smartphone so its frustrating that they couldn't do it with the flagship ICS device. The Razr has all the hardware specs and build quality that I want from my smartphone and the Maxx adds the battery life that we have been missing since 4G became the golden standard for mobile data. So while there isn't ICS on board the Maxx with its light weight blur over 2.3.6 is fast fluid and stable. I have yet to experience a single reboot, slow down, lag, or anything on the Razr/Razr Maxx and that's saying something where Android is concerned. The biggest thing though is with the newest update the Maxx does not drop data or have issue switching between 3G/4G anymore. It holds signal fantastically and when it does have to switch its fast to do it. As a daily use device I think the Maxx is hard to beat right now. If the Nexus can fix the signal issues, get battery life better, and get ICS more stable that may change but for now the Maxx is my daily driver.

I like the plastic build and the hardware is great i mean the feel of it only. i allso had the razr and didnt like the hardware at all. too me build quailty is how it feels to me and nexus blows away the razr to me. And i don't have signal drop out so its not sammy maybe your location ? alot of the stuff your talking about is moslty alot of phones like i could say moto used a old screen tech keep razr cost down see how i did that ? all them do it duh.

What? I couldn't really understand that jumbled mess. See how I did that?

*Bitching comment about how much our device sucks*

Just getting a little sick of every other post being about bitching. Go replace it if you don't like it. Welcome to being an early adopter to a phone. The Thunderbolt was the same way. Have you seen it's battery life now? It's stellar. Give it time. Sheesh

I think the biggest question is " is anyone NOT having problems with Verizon nexus today, or better yet..AT ALL?????? I couldn't wait to get rid of that jinxed POS..Keep it someday it may be worth something after everyone else throws them away ?? maybe ?? I went back to my 3gs and I HATE iphone !!
Too bad Nexus is nothing like their advertisements( what is) it would be a perfect phone but as it stands I can't even call it a PHONE ! verizon, samsung and google can eat this one it should taste like WHAT IT IS .... poS...Too bad I was looking so forward to it..Glad I got it dumped..Anyone holding on to it WISHING for it to magically turn into a usable device, Ha..So many issues that the big 3 won't admit, good luck

I'm sorry, but the "early adopter" rationalization is just that, a rationalization and nothing more. These aren't minor glitchy bugs owners are "bitching" about; it is absolutely well within the boundary of reasonable expectation that the phone should be able to hold voice and data connections reliably.

Has it happened to other models before? Yes, unfortunately. Does that excuse the problem in anyway for those still having connectivity issues with the Nexus? Nope. Outside the microcosm of the developers world, the vast majority of smart phone buyers have a basic expectation of functionality, and if their shiny new Nexus (or any other model for that matter) isn't meeting that expectation, "bitching" seems the obvious result. I've yet to see an ad for the Nexus that clearly states "Just hang in there, it'll be awesome once we get it sorted out!"

Plus, it's hard to "give it time" waiting for the companies involved to make it right when you're stuck paying for services you can't use.

I went through two of them, both were exercises in frustration and disappointment. Went to a phone I don't care for all that much, but at least it works like it's supposed to out of the box. I'm 100% sure I'm not alone in this expectation.

Maybe I missed the bandwagon where it's cool to excuse reception issues as part of "the experience" but I'm not sure that's one I'll ever hop onto anyway.

Had some serious issues this evening. Had to reboot. Twitter would not refresh, browser would not load. Reboot fixed the problem for about 15 seconds. Really annoying. I was almost to the point to call my sister and have a razr maxx delivered tuesday and play sim card swap out.

On my way home from work tonight I did a side by side with her bionic and both acted pretty much the same. Signal strength about the same for both at the same time so I think its a network problem. That I am not exactly close to a tower. Im still bummed :(

There is at least one as I'm not having any signal drop issues.:D

I've had 4g issues all day too. 3g has been fine.

Given that this has been a recent phenomenon and that my 4g signal was great even Saturday, I'm willing to bet that this is a Verizon issue rather than a problem with the phone's hardware. There's no need to get riled up, or if there is, at least be angry at the right people.
