Root Is there a way to limit/remove "Share" options for gallery pictures, files, etc??

This may require you do do things in a different order, but what if you just open the app, Messaging or mail, and just attach the picture or video you want to send?

I generally do it this way myself. Start to compose a message and then attach the photo i want to send.

Messaging app>Contact>Attach>Picture>Gallery Or Camera.

At the spot to choose whether or not to send a picture, video, or contact there is a list but the first one is,

Picture
Video
Audio
App Recommendation
Location
Contact
Appointment

That is the way I have been doing it but this may even take longer I don't know as I haven't tried coming from the other side. IE: picking picture first then contact.

Hope this helps.

Hi..thanks for the suggestion...

I was aware of these options, however, you nailed it on the head when you said "That is the way I have been doing it but this may even take longer I don't know..." I'm trying to streamline my use of the phone and make it quicker. Your suggestion DOES work but is a bunch more steps.

For instance, if I have just taken a picture or I am viewing a picture in the gallery, either long-pressing the picture or quickly hitting "Menu" bring up the little "Share" option. At that point is where I get annoyed :D...where I have to scroll through the list of share options and find my Messaging or Mail app and attach.

With your suggestion, like I said, it DOES work too, however, I have to (1) back out of the app I am currently in (2) go to my home page and/or app drawer (3) find the Messaging app or Mail app and launch (4) open a new message/mail and address it (5) attach the file(s) I want to send and then send :( I know I gotta do all that addressing and sending with either method but it is NICE to be able to do it from within the Gallery or camera and save a couple steps at the beginning. Also, doing it the way I like returns me back to the Camera or the Gallery...doing it the other way to launch the Mail or Messaging first returns me to THOSE apps instead of my pictures.

You should try "coming from the other side" to do the attaching from within the app compared to what you normally do. You might have WAY LESS stuff to scroll through and find it much easier for yourself! :) The "Share" function is great...just gotta weed through the share options to get where I need to be with the way it is now....thanks though!

Wow, reviving my original post from over a year ago!!

Just found an app that partially helps with the long list of "sharing-able" apps on your phone:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andmadesoft.share

I saw "partially" helps because it seems to only affect certain system "share" lists. For example, I have used it on my Dolphin Browser and it has given me the option to FULLY cut down the, I don't know, dozen or 15 apps down to the 1 or two that I use. However, with the stock Gallery on my phone it oddly does not give the option to cut down the list but is listed as an option itself...:thinking:...which kinda defeats the purpose requiring a TWO step process in that situation, the first to choose Andmade to share with and the second to pick from the trimmed-down list that Andmade then provides.

I'm not sure if Andmade would work with a third party app like QuickPic that replaces the stock Gallery. I think I'm going to email the dev to see what the Gallery responds to the app the way that it does.

Anyway, trims down some things in some apps so definitely helpful!!:D

I was just reading this tread because my list of applications is so long that the first ones of the list are out of the screen and unfortunately I cannot scroll to reach them. So it happened that I couldn't send a picture by bluetooth because bluetooth app (one of the first of the list) was "outside" my mobile...ok now I have another application just to send files with bluetooth, but it is really uncomfortable...
Is there maybe something new that pop up in the meantime, an application or a solution?
THank you very much for helping! :p

2017, april, still NO SOLUTION.
Running KitKat on Galaxy S5.
That Andmade Share is not working at all, it just ads itself to the share list i already have, meaning its doing the opposite of what i want to achieve, cluttering shareenu even worse.
If anyone found any solution of how to clean the share menu, please help.
