Okay. I thought it was just an overlay, but a guy showed me his Nexus with ICS. He claims to be a developer.

I was very skeptical until he showed me the face unlock.

What tricks is he pulling or is it real? I have a video he sent me as well. He's trying to sell it to me.

I'm tempted to get ICS for the Rezound just to see how good a browser Google Chrome is. They released it on ICS phones only on Tuesday.

It will be better than the ICS browser at some point, but right now it is rough and not really worth using with how absolutely amazing the stock ICS browser is. When it gets ironed out more I'll likely switch permanently.

I planned on waiting to see if the Rezound gets added to the 3rd party bootloader unlock tool so vzw does'nt put me on the bad boy list by using the htcdev tool. I was also hoping for an ICS update by end of Feb. or 1st of March.

I've just heard that Chrome doesn't support flash (and that flash isn't providing any more updates) ... do you have any input on that?

I remember hearing something about that. I'll have to consult with my sources....

I can confirm it doesn't have flash support currently. I imagine it will come since adobe did make a version of flash that is compatible with ICS so it is just up to google to make it work with chrome. I am currently switching between the stock browser and Chrome.

It was my understanding that if you use HTCdev to unlock your warranty remains in tact for issues that are not software related (i.e. faulty hardware key)

Could you help with a link. I was under the impression that you lose any and all warranty.

The message that came up when using the HTC Dev website was that by using this product you may lose any or all of your warranty. It did not explicitly say that by simply unlocking your bootloader you'd void your warranty.

Clearly, if you take your phone in to VZW for "warranty" purposes and you've 1) unlocked it and 2) rooted it they are not responsible to warranty your phone that you chose to mess up. OTOH, simply by unlocking your boot loader (with no other mods) doesn't mean they won't warranty your phone if the buttons stop working, or the volume rocker switch breaks etc..

Let's face it, these kinds of phones don't not just "not work"...it's usually always user modification or user error. That being said, I recently too my unlocked and rooted phone in to VZW because my headphones mysteriously stopped working...did they check for an unlocked bootloader or the version number of my software? Nope. And I doubt that most VZW employees even know how to do that (or even what that means!).
