Root [ROM][ALPHA] Triumph CM9 v0.6.17.0 [FINAL]

So one bug I noticed that is fairly consistent is when swiping through widgets. About the 5th screen of stock widgets, trebuchet (or however its spelled) crashes. I've found if I want a certain widget, I have to download one that starts with the letter A-F, or I can't swipe deep enough into widgets. My suspicion is that one widget is causing the crash, but not confirmed. This has to do with the launcher, right? Are we tied to this launcher due to CM9?
I had that happen as well, but I'm pretty sure it's due to an incompatible/buggy widget, or a widget that CM9 doesn't agree with somehow. Once I removed some apps that I knew had widgets and that I didn't really need, that crash stopped. I would try removing apps with widgets one-by-one until you find the culprit.

Hi there I really love this build.

Mostly because its clean and very close to native android, keep it that way :)

I have some problems though, im on a fb400/fb0 U9000 x6 Huawei device.
and it seems like, the buttons Back and menu is flipped/replaced?
And the Market is giving me the "server error" even with wifi working.

the guy from:
Alpha2 AOSP ICS Rom for Huawei x6 and other FB0 devices - xda-developers

has Market and buttons fixed in his build, but this build is faster and with full language support which I like better, could you somehow merge the drivers or something?

Once again thx for the build :)

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned earlier, but I found an interesting bug. I know I shouldn't be nitpicking, but everybody's been mentioning bugs. I really love ICS and CM9, and I love bragging to my fellow geeks about my PREPAID bad-ass android on ICS, gotta love cyber monday and rooting. GPS was definitely the little kick I needed to go for the alpha. wifi tethering is a nice luxury, but GPS was a must for me.

While using the text messaging app, I was switching between uppercase and lowercase (you know standard typing and whatnot), but at one point all the keys on the keyboard were uppercase except for the keys that I had recently tapped, which were lowercase. everything typed out just how I needed it too, but visually it was odd. I'm not sure if this is exclusive to just the text messaging app or if it was system wide. It only happened to me once.

BTW, I'm on NateMckn's v0.6.2 build from yesterday, and in the process of updating to Mantera's v0.6.3 build from today.

Quick question, is it okay for me to download these build's straight to my device over Wi-Fi. I'm sure it's safer to download them on to my computer and then transfer them later, but I'm pretty lazy.

Its fine to download it directly to the device. If its corrupted it won't (or at least shouldn't) install. Downloading from a computer could have less of a corruption issue, but downloading it directly to the phone should be fine.

This happens to me too but I'm able to get around it by starting from the Widget tab rather than swiping all the way over from the first App page.

You've asked this a few times now, but I wouldn't get your hopes up. I doubt any of the Triumph devs have a Huawei phone, so they can't really do any testing. Maybe you would have better luck asking Huawei devs to look at the Triumph CM9 source and see if they can use that to improve their own roms?

This is a bug with ICS keyboard source, I noticed it when the first batch of ICS keyboards were ported to older android versions and people had to fix them manually. I'm guessing Google hasn't fixed it or CM9 hasn't updated from Google's source.

This MT ROM uses touchscreen driver rewritten to only detect the button config for Triumphs. Originally it had code to detect other devices, but the logic was complicated and wasn't setting/resetting the right flags internally. So I just made it a straightforward mapping for our device. You'll have to either change the bi041p_ts.c file and recompile or just live with it, it just doesn't match up with the label on the phone, the buttons behave & feel the same.

Just flashed and I'm making this my everyday rom, even purchased Titanium Backup Pro just for this. Just one quick question, upon release of other versions(which seems to be every night), would I just Wipe Cache? I don't want to have to wipe everything and restore it for every update.
Yep, no need to wipe all data. Also make sure you flash gapps after flashing the update each time.

Anyone having 3g not working after the phone sits a while? Only way to get it to come back on is to reset connect via air plane mode.

same problem on the 0.6.2 rom with the data connection dying. Either reboot or the Airplane mode fixes the problem. Just flashed to v0.6.3 this morning but the phone has not sit idle enough to have the data problem yet.

so far 0.6.3 works great but the data cut off is still in the new rom too.

hope that can be fixed soon.

thanks

A few pages back, someone suggested "connection checker" from the market. I've installed that and it has been pure bliss for 3G. Try it...
