Root [ROM][ALPHA] Triumph CM9 v0.6.17.0 [FINAL]

Whyzor: I know you've recently done a lot of work on kernel wakelocks in CM7. Are the wakelock fixes you made included/needed in the ICS kernel?

No not yet, but I will soon once I confirm they're needed. 3 planned kernel updates actually:

1) My BT & TG's Wifi wakelocks need to be moved to a different module so they work correctly.

2) Prevent 2 simultaneous sensor events from grabbing wakelocks and not releasing them.

3) Latest move to remove BKL (Big Kernel Locks) that 2.6.37+ phased out. This makes the phone a lot smoother as some experimental testing has shown on CM7.

Another bug I can confirm is that I can't send an email out via Gmail. I tried sending a simple I'm awesome email to myself and it just hangs at sending. I have full bars and am connected via 3g.

Actually, ICS has a built in BS detector, and will refuse to send emails with blatant falsehoods. ;)

If you managed to brick it by flashing cm7 that would be amazing. In the sense of people have done worse and haven't bricked it. If you can at least get into the bootloader then you can just put the stock image on the mobile partition and it would work.

There were some other things I did that could have caused it(won't mention those). It wouldn't boot into recovery, no matter how long I waited with the battery out. I just let it sit overnight and in the morning it worked(guess I got lucky).

Either way, when the camera is fixed I'll definitely try this out again! The only reason I want it is for the face recognition, :p.

Did you restore Gmail using titanium? everytime I do this, whether with CM7, or 9, I have to uninstall, and reinstall from the market, or it will not send emails

Good to know it's not just Trebuchet. It doesn't bother me too much. I sometimes went without it on my OV, but now on this huge screen, I'd like to have the scrolling background. It makes your desktop feel larger without being cluttered.

OK, I retract my statement. After a few reboo
ts and some messing around, the wallpaper scrolling in APEX started working

You might be waiting awhile...

Progress on CM9 | CyanogenMod

"For many devices, our hands are tied. Some very clever workarounds have gone into CM9, but we’re still blocked on some subsystems like the camera."

I'm assuming you haven't seen the post on Phandroid about the Motorola Atrix and Photon getting a CM9 update with Camera working. Can't verify it because the link they provide goes to XDA and the OP still has camera listed under "Borked". I don't feel like searching through the last pages of posts just to verify, so if you guys would like to, be my guest. If the Photon and Atrix devs actually got the camera working for those two phones ours can get it soon, don't underestimate our devs.

Hey mantera the user notification icons are still mdpi, any reason why in particular? My custom made seepu icon looks overly dark and small

No idea, sorry. I assume that you put your icons into the hdpi folder right? Basically, the hdpi icons noted in the change log are only really referring to the google icons as I can't control anything else.

Hi there I really love this build.

Mostly because its clean and very close to native android, keep it that way :)

I have some problems though, im on a fb400/fb0 U9000 x6 Huawei device.
and it seems like, the buttons Back and menu is flipped/replaced?
And the Market is giving me the "server error" even with wifi working.

the guy from:
Alpha2 AOSP ICS Rom for Huawei x6 and other FB0 devices - xda-developers

has Market and buttons fixed in his build, but this build is faster and with full language support which I like better, could you somehow merge the drivers or something?

Once again thx for the build :)

Were the buttons flipped in the 0.6.0 build also? I'm just wondering since if the buttons were ok in 0.6.0, then it's probably just the kl files that we removed for the latest builds and I can put them back without any problem. If it was not working in 0.6.0, then it'll take more work and so it probably won't happen.

With CM7 stock mms use, my photos would be converted to ~30 KB to be sent. I used the method described at (can't paste, search MT forum on this site for "GO SMS Pro - MMS (sending pictures) Problem/Fix") to allow Go SMS Pro to send MMS photos up to 1MB.
When I use these same setting in GO SMS Pro with CM9 I can't go above 200KB max without the recipient getting a "too large" error (& no photo received).
I've messed with a few different configurations without success. Fyi, it seems 200KB is the max the stock messaging app reduces to, as well.

Does anyone have thoughts about this or have managed to successfully break this 200KB sending threshold on CM9?

Edit: Problem was completely my fault for sending a different height x width than was allowed to be received by my recipient.

What does it matter? You can always change it anyways, but more likely than not the person on a different carrier and/ or phone isn't gonna be able to get the message as it would be too big for them to receive over a mms.

If it didn't matter, I would not go to the trouble of trying to use it or ask if others had insight.
What does "you can always change it anyways" mean? I'd appreciate clarification because you neither mention what you're referring to nor do you specify in the same sentence.
Also, there would be no point in me making this post if my attempts in Cm7 did not have my photos arrive at their destination. That is step one of this process- if my 1MB photos weren't received by my friend properly from my phone with CM7, the rest of my logic is moot.

There's a thread talking about it... Let me find it for you.

Here: http://androidforums.com/triumph-all-things-root/470282-rom-cm7-tg-reloaded-latest-02-02-a-24.html#post3903321 5th and 6th post on that page. There is a mod, but I don't know if it works, nor do I personally care. You can try it if you want to though.

OK another 2 things I noticed I seem to be having problems with:

1) can't do a Bluetooth transfer. Seems to always fail or get about 30% then it just stops.

2) data connection is very iffy. I try the toggle data and airplane mode and even though I get full 3g bars I can't connect. It keeps saying please check your internet connection. So I go into cwm and format cache and dalvik cache, reinstall the rom and gapps and then everything is fine again. Had to do it twice today.

Just throwing that out there and trying to be of some service. I know its an alpha rom but every input counts. Anybody else experience this as well?

Keep up the good work guys. Looking forwards to future releases!
