Hello i just bought a android device today but my carrier has put a whole bunch of preinstalled apps on it that i do not want if i am to temporary root my device would my warranty be voided i just want to delete apps and that is all
Yeah, the warranty would be void unfortunately. What handset is it, you can still take a look what's required to root and decide if it's what you want to do.
My personal advice would be to hang fire a bit, if this is your first android device, take a bit of time to learn/play about with it first and see if you really want to do it. I'm very pro root, but that doesn't mean to say root is for everyone.
