Help Solution to Syncing Outlook on the Droid

I am sooo over this synching dilemma!! I thought that just maybe with this last HTC synch upgrade they could get it right. My 1800+ contact are a mess, phone numbers in the wrong accounts, duplicated, triplicates and quadruplicates in my files now. I have been using my Droid for about a year and this has been my only real issue with it. (OK, battery life comes in second, but I bought a bigger battery).

Coming from BBerry, this is the most frustrating thing I can imagine. I also use ACT, so now those files are corrupted as well.

I finally decided to bite the bullet and pay for what should be free software, but I still have problems. Just don't understand what is so difficult here when BBerry and iPhone seem to be able to get this right.

If anyone has a magic bullet here that really, seamlessly works the way it should, please let me know before I dump this phone and shell out $500 to move to another device.

felice, assuming you are using a pop account and outlook? if you want to sync emails, that is not going to be easy.

if you just want contacts to sync with outlook , then download the google app which syncs outlook to your google account.

I have used this with the droid1, droid2, and now droid3.

if you are an exchange user, syncing everything via outlook becomes trivial, for pop accounts however, I agree, my BB was much better, but that is because emails went thru BB, not the pop.

I thought Droids were only made by Motorola. Are you talking about two different phones or am I mistaken on that?

I haven't tried it yet--for fear of corruption after seeing the grace of some other past products--but there's a "new" Google Apps Sync 2.0 which is supposed to synchronize Outlook information (contacts and more) with the google contacts and calendar.

Corrupting files? Yes, but you can make backups before you let loose the sync app. And you should have backups, because Outlook all by itself can shred its own files.

I found an app called MyPhoneExplorer.

The instructions are almost nonexistent. But, I had it installed and working in about 30 minutes.

I did a great job of syncing all of my Outlook 2010 Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Notes to my HTC Inspire.

You have to install a desktop program on your computer and an app on your phone.

In your phone's apps listing, look for MPEnotes and MPEtasks. That is where you will find your synced notes and tasks.

Syncs via USB, wifi, Bluetooth and fixed IP address

The only cost is a PayPal donate nag screen when you exit the desktop program. I assume that if you make a small donation the nag screen will cease to exist.

Blue SyncRoid is one option. Have been using it for a month now to sync contacts and calendars between Outlook and the phone. I was looking for a sync solution that uses bluetooth as carrying a cable is not feasible for me all the time. One other thing, I am not comfortable in sharing my personal details with google (like calendars and contacts). So I opted for this solution ... works great. Recommended ...

Only 15 downloads, must be new. Certainly worth a look.

I expect that Google intentionally snubs Microsoft and thinks they will gain something by shutting out Outlook and MSOffice. Dummies! The user base isn't going to migrate.

And I also expect that Google is datamining everything in the Google contacts and calendar, I don't trust them OR their security to prtoect that information. They've already been penetrated at least once, and lost cloud data at least one other time.

Billionaires. Dummies.
