Battery life on this phone...

I read many different reviews and I'm just wondering, how is the battery life for those who actually have this phone? Can it go a day with moderate and semi excessive use? (for texting only) Would you recommend this phone at all? Especially for texting? Any tips for battery life? Thanks, thinking of getting this phone. Anything is helpful.

I usually get two days out of my phone, but under really heavy use sometimes only a day. But I charge it every night so it doesn't matter to me. I think it's a great phone and I've never regretted purchasing it.

I find the same. I can get up to two days of battery life with moderate use or a day with heavier use. But once you get in to the mind set of charging it every evening - you'll be fine.

I've always charged all my phones overnight whether or not they've needed it. But my WFs is new so I've been giving it heavy use and it doesn't normally go below 50%.

I on the other hand just get around 16 hrs

when I have it charged it remains on 100% for quite a while but as soon as it hits 99 its more like a slippery slope and it loses 1% everytime I use it to text. 18hrs is when i have disabled the data connection altogether...
I do listen to songs on it for around 4 hrs(long commute) everyday. Browsing the web Is a very large drain as well...I am very much afraid to use it for internet when I'm not home due to this issue which makes me want a dumb phone instead. I have tried every tip available here and elsewhere on the internet with little to no relief.

Mine also lasts about 2 days with moderate use or about 1 day with heavy use.
Listening to music like proc does will drain the battery like crazy unfortunately

I bought one of these eBay - The UK's Online Marketplaceand it does seem to last much longer. Only downside seems to be that it needs a bigger case back which is hard and slippery ans is less pleasant to hold.

Hi, my battery life lasts 1-2 days when I only text my friends. But if I am downloading apps it takes away more of my battery life, but I charge it every day so it doesn't really affect me. I would recommend the phone as it is awesome!!

Well i tested without listening to any music at all, neither auto sync is enabled, no app is hogging in the background, checked with cpu usage widget, phone does not stay awake unnecessarily, and these are my (abysmal) results in the attachment.

The phone had hardly stayed awake for 2.5 hrs, received a couple of calls, browsed just for 5 mins, sent/received some 20 sms both ways.. No games, no other cpu intensive task.

I thought of creating another thread but there are already so many battery related threads i didn't wanna increase the count.

Should i get this battery replaced? I have had this phone for 4 months now and the backup has just been the same.

U need to do the dialer fix, its using up all your battery. Search for it on xda. U will have to edit the build.prop file, but its simple, just gotta find the right line and delete the # and save the file and reboot

alright thanks for the tip.. i searched around, in the meantime, before i attempt a fix (i assume it also requires root?) i'm trying first whether disabling the pocket mode etc. options fixes it or not..found that it worked for some.. i don't really find them of much use anyways.

UPDATE:disabling those options does not solve it.

Mine looked exactly the same until I disabled pocket mode. Now Dialer doesn't show at all and it's only gone down to 82% since 7am.

A few more questions though. Im sorry, just making sure I'm making a good choice for my first android.

1) Is rooting the phone something I should look up to? If so, how easy is it? I'm not that tech savvy so I'll probably have my dads friend do it for me if he can.. Is the rooted phone that much better than stock?
2) Is texting fairly easy? I have small, average hands. Its not that much smaller then apple touches or phones and I don't have that nigh of a problem with them..
3) Any problems and glitches I need to be aware of?
4) how durable is it? Scratched easily? Back and screen. Does a screen protector mess with the responsiveness?
5) Recommended battery saver app? I heard of Juicedefender, Y5 battery, and quick settings but I'm not sure which actually works since I haven't had an android..
6) Can this phone last for 8-12 months? I don't prefer to get new phones..

I really want this to be a good phone, and looking to purchase this, the V, or the Triumph by next week(hopefully this one though...). Thanks!

1) Rooting really helps when it comes to space and customization. Since internal storage is actually quite low, you will only download a few apps. Rooting will permit you to download tons of them! so it's up to you really
2) I don't know about other people but I love the keyboard. I don't have any issues and they have many different languages too which helps me a lot (the dictionaries are quite extensive too)
3) I wouldn't say there are any problems except maybe the internal storage and the battery life. But then every android's battery is kinda sucky
4) I have a screen protector and I have no issues at all. As far as the back, I would say it's pertty good. I've had my phone for like 7 months now and no scratches. But I do take care of it so...
5) I'm not sure if ppl will agree with me but all does battery savers are pretty much worthless. Doesn't make any difference. The best way is to limit the way you use your apps (like syncing calendars and fb and other apps) and networks (wifi and mobile network)
6) I've only had mine for 7 months so I don't know... But I do really love mine and I don't intend to get another one anytime soon

Edit: remembered that the speakers are only ok. They don't get as loud as I want them to be but I can live with it

I find the keyboard great, I couldn't gt on with the iPhone one but no problem with this one. I have it set up like Nokias with the 3 letters on one key and predictive text and that gives quite large keys. If I turn it to landscape then I get the qwerty keyboard.

I have a screen saver and a gel back cover. touch screen is still very responsive.
I hope to have it for several years so I hope it will be as durable as it looks.

I didn't want to make a new thread to ask my questions, so..

I recently got this phone last Sunday. It was already used and the initial charge was done properly as said by owner. I turn of wifi, mobile web, Bluetooth, the screen brightness, and everything but I still have bad battery life when actually using it like for texting or calling. I hardly touch my apps at all, only like once a day if I feel like it, I don't listen to music on my phone, or anything else to possibly drain my battery?

I don't know what's wrong with my phone since the people above gets more use than I do. Should I get a battery saver app? I had juice defender for a while and didn't really see a difference at all.. Does rooting the phone make it better? I don't really know about that kinda stuff though.. I just really need better battery life cause if I'm actually using it, I only get like 2 hour at best.

I'll try anything. Thankyou for suggestions.

if it's a used phone, then maybe the battery has become old. Do you know how old the phone is? Usually after 1 year, the battery starts becoming less effective.
As far as battery saver apps, don't install any, they're all useless. The amount of battery it manages saving is actually used by the app itself.
Rooting will not change the battery. Rooting will only change whatever is software, not hardware.
I think the best is to just buy a new battery.
Make sure your gps and 'background data' is not ticked. This does use a lot of battery
But I'm curious. How often do you need to charge it?

She only used the phone for less than a month. She was selling it because she switched to another carrier.
Everything in the settings is turned off when I don't need it. I haven't turned on my location or GPS yet at all since I got the phone.
And I usually use my phone more when I'm going home/at home so I only need to charge it once(only for texting, no web or anything) after almost two hours ish then over the night. but in the morning when I do use it, having a twenty text convo usually brings it down to ~85%. I don't know if it's normal or what, cause that never happened to the iPhone I had before.. Should I just buy a new battery then?

1 month is pretty new. The battery should last you 1-2 days
