Checking weekly for new interesting posts. It's normal to have less activity on the forum since some of the users already upgraded to new phone. I will not change the phone until some hardware failure. Doesn't make sense, IMHO... Bigger screens and faster processors is appealing in first instance, but when you use the phone you will have to charge it daily or even twice-per-day... So, I say the Desire is a balanced device, a good compromise...

I waste a ton of time looking here and at XDA but I hardly ever post anything. I've had the Desire for over a year now, and will for another 3 years if it doesn't break. Have 2 years extended warranty with Future Shop that I was suckered into when I bought the phone for my girlfriend. So far its not showing any signs of wear and the battery still lasts as good as new.

I'm here off and on; if I have time to visit an online forum, it's this one. I'll probably have my Desire for at least a couple more years (off contract in mid-October) because now that I'm rooted and have all the app space I want, I see no reason to upgrade. Unless I physically break the phone somehow. My husband definitely doesn't want to change phones; he would be happy with a feature phone that lets him make calls and send an occasional text message... ::eyeroll:: So until another phone comes along that will beat what I have right now, nope. No change.

I pop in every now and then but ever since I spectacularly buggered up my Desire unrooting it not as much. Spend more of my time on the Modaco forum, as I got an Orange Monte Carlo, and who knows where I'll go in summer if something new and shiny arrives. :D No doubt my giffgaff payback will be burning a hole in my pocket by then.

im still about, just very busy atm.
will be on this device till august then its time to see where the next big dev move is and tag along.
im scared though, i dont think other devices will have the same following like the desire did and will have a more watered down dev environment.
desire devs are pretty hardcore and have had to overcome some insane obstacles that are not present for other devices.

Agree. Wish I was a dev at desire release as I would have learned a lot more.

Problem is also that there are more decent phones around so the pool of devs is thinner. It was a driving force behind why I got a nexus though as I assumed it would have a decent following.

When I got my Desire it was head an shoulders above everything else. The only things that came close were the N1 (Same thing really) or the SE X10. I thinks thats the main reason why it got so many good roms.

Being SIM-only I can upgrade any time, but the flip side is that there's no incentive to upgrade at any particular time. So I suspect I'll be here until the Desire stops being able to do what I need (e.g. when many apps need a newer OS than I can install) or until something happens to it.

Right now I still drop in regularly when I have time, and still learn from this forum.

I'm in and out...not only for the reasons given on another thread, but also because I'm pretty busy with both work and home stuff.

Wasn't sure which option to click - maybe frequent/infrequent options would have been good? ;)

Anyway, I'll be popping in here every now and then for the foreseeable future. Haven't even seen anything that makes me want to move yet, and as I'm with Orange (it's through work so moving would be a hassle) choice is limited even further.

I have a feeling it'll either be some cpu/memory munching piece of amazing software (and there's nothing to suggest that's likely at the moment) that won't run on the Desire, or hardware failures that'll make me move off.

Not been on here for a while as never realised it was on tapatalk and got fed up of using the browser. Have popped back now and again but does seem like everyone has their phones how they want as its pretty quiet on here now. Can only be a good sign.

Keeping my desire till something comes out that makes me drool but nothing released so far has come close. On Giffgaff now and been happily running dGB for ages now.

I'm still here occasionally, more so just to check in on the forum and see who's still around, although apparently I haven't posted in ages. I'm not up for contract renewal till August 2013 (damned 3 year contract) so I'll be around for a while yet, but it's entirely possible I may end up with a new device before then anyway.

I think I share a similar sentiment that most of us who have had our Desires for a while now feel comfortable with what we're running and have settled in nicely. I've been running the latest Oxygen since mid-November and I haven't had much urge to tweak things lately.
