As of this moment id get the rezound. But maybe its outdated already? How does the razr maxx compare?

maybe something nice hitting shelves in the next couple weeks? i know theres always something around the corner ... but isnt MWC a big event for mobile phones? lol

I'd like an sdcard, id like 4G, id like HYOOGE developer community.

My fav part of my dInc was waking up to play with a new CM7 Nightly

Anyhow just hoping someone here can lend some opinions.

Thanks

well anything that is debuted at MWC is probably still several months out from release. Just because a phone is announced doesn't meant it's available that day.

You need to prioritize your Needs/Wants

If a big dev community is your top priority on your list then the Nexus it is.

If an sd card is on the top of your list then the ReZound it is

The ReZound is a great phone but it really doesn't have a great Dev community behind it at the moment. Don't get me wrong there are a few devs out there doing some good work but there is no CM product for it yet. However that could be because CM7.2 is close to dropping and CM9 so they may be waiting on that.

If I were in your shoes, I'd look at the next wave of phones, specifically from HTC if you intend on staying with Verizon. The reason I'd stay with HTC is they seem to be ahead of the curve in regards to pulling in a good 4G signal with the Rezound. If you look at HTC's 1st 4G phone, the Thunderbolt, and compare it to the Rezound, the improvements are dramatic enough to make you wonder what HTC has in store with their next offering.

Also, I would look at all the latest offerings from all makers of Verizon 4G, HTC, LG, Motorola, Samsung, etc and poke around in each phone's thread to see how well/poorly they're being reviewed from users. With that knowledge, I'd see which phone has more positive reviews and then Google search the company to see what phone is due to release.

The Rezound got a lot of things right. If you spend an hour or so browsing the various forums for the top phones currently on the market, you'll find the Rezound on top in many categories. Developer support is definitely not one of its strengths, though, so if you want a phone with S-OFF and top developer support, look elsewhere.
If you never plan on rooting, then you'd be hard pressed to find a better phone.

Hi All

I have opted to go with an insurance-supplied dInc2 to replace my busted OG dInc

I will pay the $99 to keep my upgrade available for another 3-6 months and see what comes out. Nothing in VZW currently really excites me.

Id like to see a smaller version of the Transformer Prime, in a phone. i.e. ICS, Tegra3, 4core, etc.

Thanks for your replies!

I agree with this. And the sad part about this (sad for the Nexus, not the Rezound) is we're getting more developers because of the disappointing performance of the Nexus, if that tells you anything about the Nexus.

would you happen to have a link to that information? Like the amount of dev's for the two phones? Just curious. Thx :D

Nexus cause the updates are first

lol. Well, in theory anyway...that hasn't been the case just yet. Still no Gnex update to address some fairly significant issues. Signal reception being the most prominent. It did get 4.0.2 right out of the box, but the Rezound got an update as well, so tied up at 1-1 on the OTA's between the rez and Gnex thus far.

the ReZound didn't have that update waiting on it when it launched like the GNex did.

Just remember if a big Dev community is something you want then there is a chance you won't get that with the ReZound and possibly future HTC phones. Similar to the Moto phones.
Why do you say that? HTC is unlocking bootloaders now which opens it up to more dev support. And HTC is known for having excellent dev support already. Just look at the Dinc2, TB, Evo... TONS of dev support.

Here ya go:

Rezound: 23 ROMs, 7 Kernels

Nexus: 11 ROMs, 8 Kernels

Razr maxx is a Razr with an extended battery - it's still a POS.

I was torn between Nexus and Rezound and I opted for the Rezound just because I hate the dialer on ASOP Android.

Pick your poison - lol.

And yet my Rezound had to be rebooted ...yet again....cuz it got stuck in 1x. Meanwhile I'm typing this from a RAZR..that's humming along on 4g.

All I'm saying is none of these phones are as bad as some of us try to make em. Even the g nex I had wasn't all that bad when I had it.

This might shock some ppl....but I may take a g nex if its offered to me if I exchange my Rezound and it keep having this problem.

uhhhhhh lol that is the GSM nexus.

and that is only what is on XDA :)
Fair enough, I'm not that familiar with the Nexus since I chose the Rezound over that phone. :p

However, you have to admit the dev support for the Rezound is fantastic and can in no way be said to be lacking. And in fact, is a good argument FOR getting the Rezound. Unless you're a Nexus fanboy trolling the Rezound forums. ;)

I think you'll find Trophy to be nothing of the sort. There are a lot of arguments that you could use as pros for the Rezound over the Nexus, such as radio performance and pixel density, but dev and OTA update support are not them.
