I have the blue screen of death. I need for someone to send my some files that the phone needs hopefully that can fix it.
All you have to do is
Have the drivers installed on the computer
Pull out battery from phone
install battery
press vol up + vol down + power, this should lead to a pink screen
once its at the pink screen connect the usb and a removable disk file should pop up. Within that file should be 4 others, those are the ones i think the phone needs for it to work properly, if someone can send me copies Id appreciate it.

Whenever could help.
I tried exchanging the phone at Cricket but they said that all the Crickets down here got a limited amount and they dont know when they will get any. Found some guy selling a new one on CL but wants the retail price. If i can fix this with the help of somebody, Ill gladly appreciate it and donate for their time and effort.
If their is no fix then i guess Im buying a new Mercury someway somehow.

It seems I'm in the same boat here... Every cricket store around is sold out... I'm going to keep calling around today, wish me luck.
This seems strange to me. I went to the Cricket store to pay my bill before work today and they didn't have any Mercurys in stock either. I asked the girl working what was up and she said they were selling them as fast as they could get them, that they got a few in today and they were gone already. While it's good news that they are selling well, if they are limiting the supply to the stores like this it makes me think they are holding a lot back, perhaps preparing for an update soon.? If they are, I doubt it will be ICS, probably their stupid Muve Music service. I hope there is a way to not take the update on the existing phones, because from what I've read, it screwed up the Ascend 2 when they did it. You guys think Cricket is up to something, or am I being delusional lol?

they told me that they only got a limited amount throughout my area. IMO if they only got a certain amount then they shouldnt be displaying the mercury on sale if they dont have them till who knows when.

ON a better note. I got the files i needed from another mercury, a working mercury on display at cricket. Dude there was cool enough for me to hook it up and what not. copied the files over and then put it into my phone and BAM phone is functional now!
:DDD Im a happy camper.

Dude, I'm glad you got it working. I felt bad I couldn't help out. I'm surprised that none of these forums have the stock ROM posted yet. It's kinda dangerous using a custom recovery if you're not 100% sure about it. I've seen on other phones where people were bricked from using the wrong one. Rooting is one thing, but I don't think I would try flashing a recovery unless it was an official CWM, or at least something a lot of people who I trusted their opinions were using. Of course, something can always go wrong regardless.

Thanks, Im jsut glad its back to normal and i could go back to this phone. The Indulge sucks soo bad even on GB lol.
Its all good, though im sure you had other things to do. It wasnt a huge issue, i am surprised out of all the people that have one on here and on CU no one really budged (imo, you guys comments count for something lol)
Yea im not going to bother with trying the custom recovery until its on Rom Manager or something, who knows it might get ICS before a legit recovery.

I would if i knew how lol.
Whats wrong with yours though?

I think you may be able to do it with a custom recovery and just creating a backup and share the backup......not 100% sure though. Anyways it was the strangest thing I have had my merc pretty much since launch day and I was getting ready to leave work the other day and i picked up my phone to check my email and messages and everything just started crashing a ton of force closes I couldn't launch anything it was like I got.a.virus or something. Anyways it kept doing this and even started boot looping I had to pull the battery many times just to get it.fully started up. I tried running a.factory reset both from android and the recovery screen but the erase/wipe won't take . It's the strangest thing and i have been using android phones for years now and I have never seen anything like it. I feel like until we either get a.custom ROM, stock ROM or ics update I am screwed as my phone is completely unusable.

kinda in the same boat here. well, totally in the some boat actually. Used amin mod to change animations with success several times, but alas, it finally cashed my phone and I'm stuck at huwaei boot screen. If you've got the custom recovery on yours then you should def make a nandroid backup and post here for us. Thanks in advance I hope!

if you can get into stock recovery (i.e. pink screen) then you should be able to root the phone and if you follow the latest and method for rooting it you will have custom recovery. you get to it with volume up power buttons. bout to head to work and dont have time to post links but i will tonight when i get home if you need. Hope you can help us. No idea why we haven't at least made a nandroid backup for people yet. (just discovered i had custom recovery today, after bricking phone)

My phone is already rooted and the pink screen isnt a recovery or any form of one. I have tried that custom recovery method and thats where it led to the blue screen. I got the files I needed for it to work and I just recently tried the custom recovery again and still nothing. It isnt working, just stays at the Huawei logo.

That's odd it seems to have worked for so many people and there is a video going through it :(

I think there's another rooting method that has some kind of custom recovery all in one. Anyway, what were those files you needed, and what did you do with them to make your phone work? That information could probably be helpful to somebody.

what happened to me was an error when changing the framework-res.apk and that should be the only file i need to fix my phone. pink screen is not recovery but yes, another method of root exists that includes a clockwork based recovery. I was hoping someone had a nandroid backup of their working rom I might get a copy of.

if you have a computer running windows, then install the drivers and put you phone in download mode (hold vol up + vol down and power button while phone is off). }f you have ubuntu or othe linux os then drivers are unnecessary. From there locate the folder system/framework and copy the file called framework-res apk. if i can get that i'll have my phone working which is already rooted and i can post a nandroid backup for these guys.
