hey fellas i need another line for work and i have been going crazy between the nexus and obviously the maxx. so i decided to go into a vzw store to check them both out. i kept going back and forth because they were on opposite sides of the store.
after playing with both demo devices i noticed that the maxx build quality is ridiculously awesome and i def do not mind the new blur. the only thing i did not like about the maxx was the speaker phone! why is it so low? isn't this the same company that brought us those crazy loud nextel speakers?

but i noticed that the nexus has no bars in the vzw store while the maxx had full! i guess my only concern before i make my choice which is so leaning towards the maxx in a lot of departments would be to ask everyone is the low speaker was just the demo device or if you all have a low speaker on your maxx? i appreciate your help i need to decide quick considering i do not know when the double data with verizon will end. thanks again fellas.

If you think the speaker on the Maxx was bad then the GNex will be horrible. I sold my Gnex to get the Maxx due to the poor battery life and 4G/Cell radios. Other than a nicer screen and ICS (which looks to be coming sooner than later: I Am Android Introduced as a Social Network for Enthusiasts – Droid Life don't even miss the Gnex.

Unless you are a rooter/rom fanatic, the locked bootloader would be the only drawback.

I've been agonizing over the choice between the Gnex and Maxx.... reading all kinds of forums, the opinions of the screens, radios, phone call issues on Gnex, pure ICS vs. delayed Moto/VZW, unlock, etc. Well, yesterday I got to thinking it's more important how I use the phone (coming from DInc with the annoying Sense)... frankly, the calendar and contacts features were easier to use on the Maxx for me... I've been a Swype Beta user, and Maxx has Swype... at the moment I am leaning toward the Maxx, simply because it performs the way I do...but haven't made that absolute decision which to plunk my hard earned $ on.

I think its designed to reflect. It sounds much better when sitting on a table vs holding in hand.

Compare to a SGN, ouch. If you are complaining about the maxx/razr, you should put earplugs in your ear to use your Samsung Galaxy Nexus in comparison!

maxx/razr is bars above that other device that just collects dust, waiting for an update to fix basic functionality... all since 12/15.
