[International / GSM] uh oh. I think Nexus is bricked. Any advice?

So I tried to load 4.04. My dumb A picked the wrong file and now it won't get past the google splash screen, so I can't get into recovery or anything.

Am I done?

give a little more info: it lets me do the volume up/down power to get into the menu but every time I go to recovery it just goes back to the google logo with the lock at the bottom.

Your need to reflash stock I am almost sure of it. If you
Don't know how voidedsaint has made a root
Guide in the forums. Or if you know then
Use manual commands or Wug fresh root toolkit.

Well, I kept doing the volume/power thing over and over. all of a sudden after like the 20th try it went into recovery mode. Whew!

I had backed it up before I did it so I was able to restore without a factory re-set.

Thanks for your help

Sounds like you can get into fastboot, which means it'll be easy to fix. It also sounds like you just flashed a bad recovery which means you can just re-flash it. I'd flash everything to stock and then try to update to 4.0.4 again.. that way you have a nice clean slate to work from.

There are several guides on the forum about flashing to stock, or you can just google: "galaxy nexus" restore stock cdma fastboot

I am assuming you have a CDMA GN of course.. If not, then find a guide for the GSM version. Here's one for CDMA: DroidModderX -Unbrick, Unroot, Relock, Restore your Galaxy Nexus to Factory

Make sure you double check the image files that are linked in that guide and do an md5 hash check. You can ignore the adb commands as well since you're already in fastboot mode (adb only works when you're booted into Android OS). Also, you can ignore the bootloader lock command at the end since you're still going to flash to 4.0.4.
