I'm thinking about...switching to an iPhone GASP!

My history on Android phones has been an Eris first followed by the original Droid Incredible which I absolutely loved and now I have the Inc2. I've tried a few ROMs and I'm really not feeling it. I would love to try out ICS but every ROM out there doesnt work with recording video and I use that constantly.

So then I started thinking about Android as a whole that I like it a lot but it tends to be slow to update and I guess that depends on your manufacturer but Android fails to wow me anymore and I feel like trying something new.

On the tablet front I'm actually more considering a tablet because there's nothing out there Android wise. I'm probably getting an iPad 3

If it works for you then I'd say go for it. You are the only one that needs to be satisfied with your phone. My girlfriend had a real dislike for her previous Android phones and I asked her to make a list of the things she wanted in a phone. It turns out she was best suited for a BlackBerry Bold and she really loves it. Since she is happy, I'm happy.

Yes, it all depends on what you want from your device.

I actually just made the switch from an iphone 4 to the galaxy note and so far I am very happy with the change.

They are both solid systems, but there are differences and seeing how I have an ipad I felt I could try something else for my phone.

One huge draw to the galaxy note was its screen. As for Android in general, I was willing to give it a go, so far no complaints.

Go and see if apple is for you is the only logical advice. I came the other way as I became tired of the rigidity of control and somewhat boring IOS interface and options. Very glad to have switched but at the time thought perhaps It might be a mistake to try android but very glad I did. Apple are great on apps and updates but nowhere at all on individual user experience if you like to geek it up a bit. If you won't miss that side then give them a try.

When I was shopping for a tablet last summer, my impression was that the iPad 2 was the best tablet around without a keyboard. The Eee Pad Transformer was the best with a keyboard and better than an iPad 2 with any of the keyboards that I saw at the time. If you are not concerned about a keyboard and do not care much for widgets an iPad would be a good choice. I love the widgets on my phone and use them often. I don't think I would want to live without my phone widgets. However, I don't feel the same attachment to widgets on my tablet. For whatever reason, the way I use a tablet, widgets don't feel as important, useful or needed.

I hate having icons instead of widgets on an iPhone that's the only part I hate and can't stand every time I try it. I like customizing my phone but I'm bored of it. I tried a few ROMs and it didnt feel like anything different, like Sense 3.5 is just a bandaid. Now I would love ICS but I don't want a Nexus.

Really what I want in a phone comes down to

Dual Core S4 or Quad Core
4G LTE
Battery life
Good speaker - I use Plex a lot
Good camera/camcorder - I take a lot of pics and videos

I was thinking about the HTC new line of phones but I don't see any of them coming to Verizon. I would really like to use ICS on my Inc2 but the video doesn't work.

Just guessing that 4G being second on your list makes it pretty important. The iPhone is 3G only.

Given those requirements than I'd say you still need an android phone. Iphone 5 may have all or some of those specs but it's one model and you sound like you prefer options and in several months you'll have many on android and still only one on IOS.
Food for thought.
