Root [ROM][ALPHA] Triumph CM9 v0.6.17.0 [FINAL]

unfortuneately wifi is still not auto conecting for me. I even "forgot" the wifi settings and reentered the password, still no dice. Even sometimes its saying my AP is not even in range. My Asus Transformer has no issues so I know it's not my AP. Is there a way to "format" all the wifi settings to see if that helps?

In your situation, for best results, I'd recommend that you do a factory wipe/reset in CWM and then reflash the rom.

In 0.6.9.4, every time I touch the screen, the capacitive buttons are lighting up. I'm pretty sure I remember it only being when I touch the buttons themselves that they light up, but I could be mistaken. This seems like something that would be a pretty big battery drain. If it helps, I enabled the navigation bar to give that a whirl if that would have something to do with it. I've disabled it now.

need to wipe my sd card, my backups, whats yhe best way, reformat sd then reinstall roms gapps etc.

if you need to go back to complete stock flash this http://androidforums.com/triumph-all-things-root/413093-rom-bone-stock-stock-deodex-roms-triumph-now-resets-splash-img.html

and then after you flash that, let the phone boot up. it will be in "out of the box" condition.

now you just go to "settings app, storage" then format your sdcard in there... (make sure you backup any and all wanted files before doing any of this!)

yeah, still no love for me on the wifi auto connect either. sometimes it does, most of the time it doesn't. I have done everything I can to make it work right. A lot of times when it doesn't and I go to manually connect the phone isn't even seeing any AP's in range so I have to turn off then on the wifi and that doesn't work sometimes. Funny thing is the cm7 works flawlessly. No matter, it will get there.

I can finally auto connect via wifi whoo hoo!! Still no luck with media controls via wired headset no biggie though. I just got a question though, any reason why I can't download dragon go! or tsf shell launcher? It keeps saying: this app is incompatible with your Motorola WX435. I'm just wondering why I could possibly be the oddball out. I appreciate all that you guys are doing on this rom. Thanks :)

of course.

Did you try connecting to wifi before reinstalling your apps after you did the complete wipe and then reflash the rom?

I'm sorry to hear that. If you say that you already did a clean wipe and reflash the rom, I don't know what else it could be unless it's some app that is stopping you. I assume you're not using JD or any other type of auto app manager?

congrats!

Also has anybody been getting random pop up ads in the notification bar?? Its like a plus symbol as the image and then some random offer.

No, the ROM shouldn't be doing anything like that. There's nothing in there that puts anything like that on the status bar except for the initial notification about CM stats.

You must have an app that is putting those spam up there. I know that Blood and Glory kept spamming me on the notification bar until I got sick of it and uninstalled it.

It should already be working. It's built directly in the kernel and not as an external module.

Oh ok, so we have tunneling support built in. But there still doesn't seem to be OpenVPN support built in.

Searching around I see other CM9 builds appear to have that, so I assume it is already in CM9 upstream and just needs merged in?

Edit: this seems to be the case. I installed an OpenVPN installer and config and everything works fine, it just isn't integrated with the ICS VPN settings (like it was in CM7).

Edit2: ok, it claims to be working but actually nothing is tunneled through the VPN - it just connects to it. So everything OpenVPN works but apparently the ifconfig/routing doesn't get setup properly. At any rate, this would be a lot nicer if it is built directly into the system VPN settings. ;-)

So Mantera any idea why those apps say my phone is not compatible with my phone yet it works on other triumph users on this thread? Also is there any way to see which app could be spamming me?

Does anyone know how to get Game loft games working, when I tried Oregon Trail it said "not compatible with your device " It worked before. I'm on 6.9.4

No idea. I don't use those apps. Are you able to see them in the market when you search for them? Perhaps they need to be updated to work with ICS? Did it work with the alpha versions before 0.6.8.9? If it did then that's probably the issue since I updated the build ID to ICS in 0.6.8.9.

Are you getting an error or something when trying to enable it? Anything that is upstream in cm9 that has been committed is in the ROM--at least as current as the date the ROM was built anyways.

To Mantera:

Referring back to all of the things I have heard of the choppy animation at boot, and the things I have seen myself... I have made an attempt at fixing this... And voila :D

I used the bootanimation.zip from Fryocream Sandwich and when in ICS, I used root explorer to change the rewrite permissions in order to swap the two. (I returned the original permission afterwards)

The ending result: the boot animation seems to be perfectly functional without any visual artifacts.

I just wanted to let you know and at least provide some minor info for future development. Keep up the great work!

Update: I just cleared both caches, factory reset, flash 6.9.4, flash gapps. Did not restore anything. just a base install then a reboot. connected manually then toggled wifi and it auto connected. then toggled twice and no auto connect and no matter how many time I toggle it refuses to autoconnect. I can manually connect still. also knowing that cm7 works fine tells me that either i have some sort of different phone ( I have heard of that when the Triumph development community started I think they had to do something they called oddball kernal) or there is still some software problem.

Download Addons Detector from the Market. It scans all your apps and will tell you what addons each app uses (in your case, you'll want to look for an advertising addon, most likely Airpush). You can then either uninstall the offending app or download Airblocker which SHOULD block the notification ads.
