Root [ROM][ALPHA] Triumph CM9 v0.6.17.0 [FINAL]

mantera, on the latest build, I can run the wifi all day without draining the battery. It's awesome, the battery life I'm getting with this ROM now. I think it's a ton more stable than before. Tethering is working too, but is a little flaky. I don't use it with a laptop, but I use it occasionally with my Transformer. I do understand that Wifi connections to other Android devices can be questionable at times, so it's really not that big of a deal. Just figured you could use some input on that.

I haven't had any such problem using this ROM. If I were you, I would flash back to completely stock for a few days and see if the issue persists. That sort of thing sounds like a hardware problem, possibly the battery going bad or something. If the issue does continue on the stock ROM, call up Virgin to see what they can do about a replacement.

I just want all of you developers working on this -know that you are appreciated - I have not tried the Alpha version because it is an Alpha - your warnings are clear very clear - I need a working phone - and when you get this working - probably the first Beta or so release - I will join in -
I hope these children will let you all alone and those testers give you good feed back -
then all will come sooner to the end user.

Well again you all are awesome and are appreciated. I wish I would win the lottery then I could pass it on.

Thanks:)

Thanks for all of the concern regarding complaints, etc.

My thought on the subject is that "constructive feedback" is welcome - especially if I'm asking for feedback regarding a certain feature/fix that I'm trying out on a build.

However, I would prefer not to see stuff like "this sucks, x feature isn't working. I'm out of here." Nor do I want to see posts demanding that x feature "needs" to be implemented or y bug "needs" to be fixed. That's just a waste of space on this thread.

Of course, if you post something that sounds like a complaint or a report regarding a feature that neither I nor any other devs care about, DO NOT BE OFFENDED if nobody responds or jumps on fixing/implementing it. I personally don't like censoring anyone; however, I also reserve the right to just ignore anything I don't care about either.

This ROM is a collaborative effort so anyone is welcome to join the team and implement fixes or add new features.

I also have not seen this happening. However, were you overclocking/underclocking or undervolting at all?

When you did a factory reset/wipe data, did you reinstall the same apps before noticing the issue? If so, try doing the factory reset/wipe data, reflash the rom, then BEFORE reinstalling your apps, try your charging test. It's possible that a rogue app/process is taxing your cpu/gpu and causing it to overheat.

Or it's a bad battery.

Just a heads up, my phone won't deep sleep since upgrading to 0.6.9.4 (due to constant mmc0, mmc1, mmc2 wakelocks). I know these wakelocks have been an issue in the past, just thought I'd throw this out there in case the devs aren't aware of it. Certainly possible that I need a clean install, too; is anyone else having this issue with the latest build?

I don't have any problems with my phone going into deep sleep on v0.6.9.4.

Thanks for the awesome work!

Other than no camera I find this stable enough to use as a daily, been using it since 6.7 and have WAY better battery life than I did with any other ROM. As for the guy who asked about performance...This ROM is as smooth as butter, by far the most responsive and fast Android ROM i've seen to date! In fact in a comparison with my my Roomies iPhone 4s I'd say everything is just as smooth scrolling and animation wise if not smoother and ICS just looks so good!

IMO ICS marks the beginning of Android being a fully fleshed out, well thought through, grown up OS. I bought a G1 on launch day after deciding I needed something more than an iPhone and have been with android ever since, so nice to see it come of age per se.

Really? How is homescreen scrolling performance? Is it still choppy? Also, the app drawer is pretty laggy as well. Is there something I missed?

It depends on the launcher really, some have better HW accelerated scrolling, others aren't as polished.

Did you have wifi on? That's the wakelock Tickerguy inserted to keep wifi from disconnecting when screen is off.

Why isn't the F***ING camera working yet!?!?!?!

Just kidding...

Yeah, WTF is yumbrad, he should be back from the mountains already... or did he get lost up there? ;)

Which one do you think runs smoothest? I've tried Apex, Nova, and Go. The homescreens seem to be choppy on those 3. The app drawer on Apex is pretty nice though. Go Launcher on your CM7 is pretty smooth too. :)

I don't have any recommendations other than Zeam launcher, which ironically has one of the slowest app scrolling. I just set it up to one 6x7 homescreen grid for my most used apps. It's very lean & fast in other respects, just not scrolling speed, which I'm pretty sure isn't HW accelerated. But it's low memory footprint and fast loading makes up for it, I only need a simple launcher that gives quick access to my most used apps, and it does that very well.

homescreen scrolling on trebuchet is fine as as far as I'm concerned. I'm not sure what you mean by choppy. If you're referring to the performance of the homescreen in the first alpha, then ever since we enabled the opengl hw acceleration, it's like night and day.

As for the app drawer, it's pretty smooth as well. I don't see any lag myself. When I swipe to flip to the next page, I don't notice an delay or lag at all on my phone. It feels just like on my Xoom with ICS as far as the app drawer is concerned.
