Help MHL Adapter + Netflix = issues?

I have a Galaxy Nexus and my wife just got a Rezound. I bought an MHL adapter from Monoprice and it works great with my GNex; we use it to watch Netflix shows on our bedroom TV. Her Rezound seems to work just fine with the MHL adapter as well, displaying the phone's home screen etc. as it should. However, when we try to watch a Netflix show with the adapter plugged in, the show won't load. As soon as I plug in the adapter, the show apparently stops buffering; sometimes if we've played it and allowed it to buffer a bit without the adapter plugged in, it will keep playing for a few seconds with the adapter plug in, but then it will stop and say "Buffering..." indefinitely, until I unplug the adapter, at which point it resumes playing as normal. This occurs on both 3G/4G and wifi. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? I haven't tried using the browser yet to determine if it kills all networking or just Netflix streaming, but either way, it's quite annoying! Help! :)

would definitely test it witrh other things to be sure...

which particular mhl adapter did you get
I am experiencing a similar issue and I am using the MHL adapter I bought at the Verizon store. Annoying that I need to unplug the adapter, let the show resume playing on the device, and then plug it back in to get it to resume playing on the TV.

Is MHL basically an alternate to MicroHDMI?
Yes, it eliminates the need for two ports (MicroHDMI and USB).
