Help auto brightness - keeps turning itself off - ne1 else??

A Google search for "the camera keeps turning the brightness all the way up" landed me here. This problem affects the brightness whether it is set to automatic or manual. There's no escape from the problem. I have noticed that the camera turns the brightness up all the way (very inconvenient in a darkened room, for example). Sometimes it will restore the brightness when you're done, but there's just too many ways to exit the app, and the camera is probably violating some rules laid down by Android about overriding the system settings.

I came here the same way. It's been 6 months since this phone has been out and the problem is still unresolved. I have 4 Sensations in the family. I am careful to turn the display back to auto after camera use - but there are other app interactions that also cause this to happen. This issue also exist in custom ROMs (InsertCoin and Android HD Revolution)

More important, my wife cannot care to always turn on auto-brightness back on after camera use but her battery drains as a result. It's one more thing to manage for her and it puts a bad rep for HTC for not fixing this in spite of other patches. Next time, I am getting a Nexus - these manufacturers suck balls when it comes to support quality.

After reading this and posting the other night I called T Mobile and they had me do a master reset.... After I demanded they warranty the phone out if this didn't work I did the reset and it worked. At least so far! It sucks having to reload everything but at least it resolved the issue. Lets see what it does for battery life!

get the Brightness widget. I haven't had any of these brightness issues and my battery life is longer.

I set it to 25% preset when I'm in a rush or 15% custom when I have a sec.
If I need 100%, it's a quick trip with the widget, in and out.

Or keep complaining about Google, who isn't even involved in the manufacture of the Sens.
Are there other holes and shortcomings in the Android OS, you bet.
I hear there are good deals on HP/Palm Pres and Pixis now. Or an ATT iPhone.

All electronics are beta ware until the new version is made.

Sheesh!
