Root [ROM][ALPHA] Triumph CM9 v0.6.17.0 [FINAL]

Thanks I'll run another test drive today.

Also, do you know if the screen on/off animations from CM7 will be back? For some reason, my Triumph flickers every time I wake it from sleep and those animations have been a godsend to me on CM7 because they rid my phone of the nasty flicker.

homescreen scrolling on trebuchet is fine as as far as I'm concerned. I'm not sure what you mean by choppy. If you're referring to the performance of the homescreen in the first alpha, then ever since we enabled the opengl hw acceleration, it's like night and day.

As for the app drawer, it's pretty smooth as well. I don't see any lag myself. When I swipe to flip to the next page, I don't notice an delay or lag at all on my phone. It feels just like on my Xoom with ICS as far as the app drawer is concerned.

Not sure if this helps anyone but my phone gets sluggish after about 24 hours and I have to restart to get it snappy again. There is an app called Smart Cleaner in the market that will kill background process when you run it and it makes my phone snappy again for about 24 hours. Must have a memory leak or something.

As I stated earlier, never use a task killer. It messes with Android on a basic level, and its likely the reason you are having problems in the first place.

Which one do you think runs smoothest? I've tried Apex, Nova, and Go. The homescreens seem to be choppy on those 3. The app drawer on Apex is pretty nice though. Go Launcher on your CM7 is pretty smooth too. :)

All are running at full FPS for me. It's probably one of your widgets causing the lag. Not all widgets are optimized for performance.

Are you overclocked? How did you install the rom? Maybe I'm doing something wrong? My launchers are generally choppy, with the exception of launcher pro....but the app drawer is horrid on LP.

For now, I'd recommend that you stick with Trebuchet or one of the other launchers specifically meant for ICS.

As for installation, if you're having issues, I'd also recommend that you do a full wipe/factory reset in CWM before flashing the latest ROM and GAPPS. Follow the installation steps noted in the OP.

Before you start reinstalling your apps, check out the ROM barebones. If you notice it acting differently/sluggish after you start installing your apps again, then you'll know if you have an issue with the rom or an app.

I remember while porting 2.3, that screen animation was not there on phones until some OpenGL parts were not implemented perhaps that's why its not showing up here.

Also, I am not sure if this is Chrome's fault or the rom's but it seems to have the tab in memory for very little time. I am viewing a tab then jump to another tab then jump back to original tab and the tab has to reload as it is not in memory anymore.

Some other apps have also quit (exit silently to homescreen) on me (I guess due to running out of memory).

I have the exact opposite problem. My tabs in chrome never go away unless I exit them directly or close chrome completely. Whenever I select a new page it opens a new tab instead of opening the new page in the current tab. I checked my tabs one day and I had 20 some open. It isn't a problem for me, but I'm just saying.

I think the problem is then just with the unconsistency of chrome because it's still in beta, not a problem with the rom.

i have a new theory about btwlancoex... i just did a clean wipe and install of the latest build.. but when i went to make those changes in that root file mantera asked me to try hotfixing i rebooted.. connected my controller after i had a stable wifi connection and the data was coming through just seems like its really slow and is choppy as hell like im on a .05mb connection trying to buffer a video while playing it.. so the data is getting there just not at speed..

but heres the kicker when i went back to reload a backup of the text file.. the changes never stuck.. the hashtags were still there.. ill try copying and editing then replacing to see if they stick..

but if anything mantera you should make me a build with thoses changes intact so we can see if it really fixes the bt wifi issue :)

The "really slow" observation is probably because the CPU is at 100%, which is the original problem that removing the btwlancoex file was trying to solve.

well the ui isnt... so i still want to be sure.. think of onlive as a very sensitive video stream if your connection drops out for even a second it can be laggy and slow.. its happened to me on the last build.. only when bluetooth is enabled it just isnt getting enough data to provide a normal clear stream.

and webpages wont load properly or even tapatalk will take forever the wifi is just spotty with bt on its not like the phone is at a crawl.

So this post is directed at Mantera and the other ICS triumphs devs. (I would PM but looks like its disable for you.)

One the great things about your rom is that you have MMS working for CM9 on Virgin Mobile. This is so great the I was actually able to reverse engineer your rom and take out the cdmasmsdispatcher.smali file and use it to get MMS working on my Samsung Epic 4g w/ CM9 that I ported to Virgin Mobile. Others have been able to get MMS working on the EVO with the same fix based on your work.

My fix can be found on the XDA forums>Samsung Epic 4g>Epic 4G Android Development> (can't post links yet)

Anyways after speaking with wtogami, one of the lead devs for the Epic CM9 port. He was wondering if we could get a copy of the java source file of the cdmasmsdispatcher so that we could get it posted on the cyanogenmod github so that we could automatically bake it into the epic cm9 rom and other devs for different phones could have access to it too.

Thanks!
