Have you tried all of the USB ports? I had this exact issue, and it was just the USB port for some reason. You may want to check in the device manager to see if there is an unrecognized Samsung USB device. If there is, just click on it and delete it. I have also read on here that a couple people have had their USB cable go bad, but that would be rare I would think.

By the way, just came back from Maui. Was amazed at all the Whales!

yes i have tried all the ports...
but i seem to have got it working...
i'm not too sure how though..
it's too bad that i happened to have done the factory reset..
i also installed New PC Studio...
I'm not sure if that fixed my problem but I'm not planning on un-installing it & going back to square one...

You also have to remember if you don't safely remove the phone after connecting it you sometimes cause the computer to unrecognize the phone. Restarting the phone and computer tend to work as well. I don't us PC studio and My phone connects normally to both my windows desktop at work and my macbook at home. Just remember for macs that you must turn usb debugging on.
