Help Wife about to drop kick her Droid Pro

Ok,

I convinced my wife some time ago to go to a Droid Pro. She didn't like it out the gate as she loved her old BB Curve and didn't want the learning curve of a new phone. I posted about some of the initial problems here: http://androidforums.com/droid-pro-support-troubleshooting/308440-new-droid-pro-my-wife.html :(

Lately her phone has been hanging while trying to do MMS texting.

There are certain words that she cannot type without the messaging app locking up and she's forced to pull the battery to restart the phone. Hard when it is in the hard plastic clam shell to say the least.

In addition, it has randomly powered off even though the batter had a full charge.

The phone is currently on 2.3.3 which was pushed automatically last year.

I need to do a backup of all of her pictures, texts, e-mails, and installed applications and then do a factory reset. Any suggestions on an application to do this? She does have Lookout on the phone, but I'm worried about losing something.

I've been reading about rooting her Droid Pro and believe that it would cause more issues than effort so root is not an option, please don't suggest it. If I don't do something soon, I'll be at the Verizon store buying a new phone at full price as she's not yet eligible for an upgrade unless I go the eBay crapshoot.

Any suggestions and advice would be helpful.

Well,

Had to finally do a factory reset on the phone and then go back through the process of reinstalling all of her applications.

The phone is running much more smoothly now and she can type properly without the phone hanging up. She'll likely keep it until she's ready for an upgrade but my guess is that this is the last Motorola phone we'll have.
