[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

Flashing it now. Like back in the days of the Incredible, I'm in search of the "perfect" ROM....and I'm not even sure what it will be. LOL. I've been hearing good things about this one so I'm giving it a try.

Still trying to figure out the Kernels and Radios thing though.

Check out AXI0M Crossbreed V5. It's AOKP M4 with a ton of speed tweaks and performance enhancements. I never expected the Nexus to be this smooth. It really is amazing. Very glad droidth3ory decided to base his hybrid on AOKP.

The .zip file includes the 4.0.4 radios, 4.0.4 bootloader, and gapps as well. One stop shop.

this rom has caused some strange issues for me, so i will be moving off of it at the end of the day.

i had an alarm set at 6:55am
phone had rebooted, and was sitting in a bootloop, for how long? i do not know, i woke up at 7:01 (luckily) and phone was in the bootloop, i took a shower, and it was still in it.
so i did a battery pull ( :( )
the phone finally came up, and i then noticed that my battery life was at 90% however my battery icon was showing a full charge... strange

if i were to get a text and open the message, and respond, and not close out my message but lock the phone, if the person replied, i could not respond to that message unless i backed all the way out of the application, and restarted it. strange, and annoying.

so i then wanted to test this alarm clock, and apparently whenever my alarm is going to sound, instead of sounding, it goes into a bootloop... woohoo :(

o and the fun one that i absolutely loathe and will make me leave m4 (until its fixed that is)

when enabling wifi, it will power cycle the phone, then somehow bluetooth will become enabled, and wifi is disabled, if you enable wifi first, then disable bluetooth, the phone will not powercycle.. so yeah, other than those bugs for me, this is an awesome rom, but i will not stay on it. thinking about either gummy, or codename.

As many people that run this ROM and have no issues this is something with a Titanium restore or something not getting wiped properly. All the issues you list lead me to only that conclusion as you should not be having any of those. I mean something is seriously borked on your flash. Have you taken any measurements towards remedying it? Like re-flashing after a full & complete wipe and then being very meticulous when restoring anything in Titanium?

Can I ask what does this 'Inverted' thing mean? I keep seeing it pop up. Do you have to tamper with the Market/Play or something?

They're talking about inverted gapps/apps meaning where the background is white with black text it will be the opposite in the inverted version aka black background with white text. Everything is "darkened or blacked out". So, for instance, your Google Talk, Google+, Gmail etc... will all have black backgrounds against white or colored text.

I'm thinking of downloading m4 and I almost did from rom manager, but what is the rom addon "20120304" ?

I do everything from my PC I don't use ROM manager for anything except to flash new recoveries. Have you tried going to the Download & Changelog link in the OP?

I never found the perfect ROM with the Inc although I found a lot that I liked. AOKP is about as good as it gets right now on the GN. There is no other as polished as this.

Feel free to ask questions about kernels and radios there are a lot of knowledgeable and good folk here :)

great question, i flashed this rom 3 times. (truth)
first at work, no signal in my office so i relied on tibu to restore my apps, to my surprise tibu did not play well with it at first. so i got fed up and tried again.

this time using tibu to restore apps worked... strange
however i listen to google music on a daily basis when at the gym, and when i was listening to music the google music app would go from one song, jump to an entirely different one, and go out of order from then on out. (its not a problem, but surely annoying) and since i know i used tibu to restore the apps. i decided when i get home, i would redo it again, and this time use my wifi to restore all my apps.

upon that happening it didnt ask to connect to wifi on start up screen (happens occasionally) and then it only downloaded 23 apps. so instead of using tibu to restore the apps, i just searched the market for them all. and finally got them all installed.

that was my day yesterday. and today not so sure i can go to the gym as i apparently have fluid build up on my left bicep, and knots all in it, so needless to say, im in pain. but it wont stop me from flashing a rom lol

Has anyone ever figured out a way to change what icons come up on the quad/octo lock screen? Having a custom app have the default icon just kills the swagger...or at least some of it :D

Not yet that I know of :(

after watching some of the reviews come out...I am going to try to wait for 28...not sure if I can help myself, but gonna try anyways. Getting great life on B27!!
Resistance is futile! :p

Is there a way to secure my phone with either a pin or pattern and still have the lock screen wallpaper and octo screen options?
I believe so yes. I don't use and have never used any of the locking, but I'm sure that will change with a lil boy on the way :D

I love AOKP.
Me tambien mi hermano!

Flashed AOKP M4, New Gapps, and PCB theme in the proper order.

For some reason my service tag now reads "T-CDMA 64" instead of Verizon.

Scar45, the PCB theme developer, believes that it might be a result of the theme begin based off GSM Milestone build.

Has anyone else with the CDMA/LTE Nexus experience this?

No sir, but I have a custom carrier label. Try making a custom one. Even if you want it to still say Verizon...try writing that

Yeah...custom carrier label works fine. I was able to change it, thank you.

Really just wondering if any one else experienced the same thing.

No problem. I've seen the same thing happen on other ROMs, even unthemed. It's never happened to me on AOKP because I always have custom carrier text from the start. But on APEX unthemed for example I had it there. It may just be a name change in the framework that's overlooked in the ROMing or theming, and that putting a custom carrier label overwrites both the lock screen and status bar frameworks, thus correcting the discrepancy. Who knows; glad you got it working though :)

Must be something with the PCB theme. I haven't tried it yet so wouldn't know.

That's pretty much what were asking.

I flashed M45 and Gapps, then rebooted, and everything was fine.

It didn't occur until I flashed PCB.

I'm just wondering if anyone else with with an LTE model, who has flashed PCB and M4, has had this problem.
