Help Paying for an app and saving payment record?

Hi.

Up to now I've only downloaded free apps, so I'm wondering - if I choose to buy one, how do I pay for it? Secondly, if I download a chargeable app (or a chargeable key to unlock an app or stop ads in one) is there a way to 'save' that app or payment record so that I can reload the app if I have a problem on the tab that needs a factory reset? My tab isn't rooted and isn't likely to be.

Thanks.

I assume you are using the Market / Play so this information applies to that. I would login to Play (https://play.google.com/store) from your PC using the gmail account you use on your phone. I just find it easier to add my payment info on a computer. Once this is done, your payment method is saved so you don't have to enter it again.

Once you are set up with payment information, the apps you purchase are forever connected to your gmail account. So if you change devices (or add a device and register it with the same gmail) all of your paid apps are available to you. You will also receive an email detailing each app you purchased.

I hope this helps.:)

Thanks for the info.

Hmmm, well I don't have gmail and I only have a simple PAYG phone - I only have the (UK version non 3G) galaxy 10.1.

But I'm sure you're correct anyway - go to that link you gave me and set up my payment method (Paypal?).

Probably best to simply click on 'buy' and see where it leads me - I just wanted to find out what to expect.

Cheers.

didn't know you could use an android device without having a google account associated with it...

You can use the device without a google account or any data connection, but you won't be able to download apps from the store without the account.

Thanks. I obviously have a Google account then - I didn't regard it as an 'account' because I haven't set up any payment methods etc - just an email address and password. I suppose the next step is for me to edit the account and add more info.

Cheers.
