Help Back to stock from Ice Cream Sandwich?

Hi, I live in Mexico and I didn't want to wait until my carrier released the update for my phone so I installed yesterday a costum Android 4.0.3 version. The thing is that when I sync it with Kies, I get the message "Your Device Does Not Support Updting Via Kies".

How can I fix this? Will I have to update each time manually using Odin or will Kies update to the newest version when available in my country?

Thanks a lot!

I suppose he meant this:
[ROM][CWM][XXLPQ/DXLP7][ICS][4.0.3] Odexed & Deodexed Stock Roms - xda-developers

I have installed it and so far it's been extremely stable (not a single force closure or system hang), fast and with a good battery life.
Have you had any problems with portable hotspot function? On the version I istalled of ICS, I sometimes wasn't able to turn it on and I had to reset the device.

I also found another thing that although it's not an actual issue, I found annoying: when I texted an SMS message and hit send, the keypad wouldn't change back to ABC if I was in 123 mode...

And for the last, since Samsung Social Hub only synced calendar and messages, contacts in whatsapp wouln't have any picture at all... But I suppose this is Facebook's App problem because when it syncs contacts, it doesn't actually add the picture to the contact, it only joins it to the facebook user and whatsapp only reads the contact stored in the device.

Is any of this fixed on the ROM version you've posted? Or is it all the same?

Thanks a lot!

Using XXLPQ on a TelCel handset will result in the same problem of Kies not recognising it, which is what the OP is trying to avoid.

And I don't have a Telcel mobile phone... I bought it online and it was supposed to be international but I now downgraded it back to Gingerbread and have installed the Swisscom firmware... Does this means my phone is not anymore international and that I won't get OTA updates?

My apologies, but that was the only carrier in Mexico with a CSC code listed.

I assume this means it was unbranded?

It will still function exactly the same, but attempting to update via official channels will fail because the handset will be identified as "generic" by its deviceID but the firmware check will see Swisscom.
