Apps That Do and Don't

I know there's been a few threads about apps that don't work on ICS yet and also a few threads about apps people can't live without in regards to the Nexus. I must say the thing that I love most about Android is the apps...(that's why I've started a site to review all kinds of Android apps).

So because I love all things apps, it is my goal to create a thread that will one day become a "sticky" specifically about the Galaxy Nexus and Apps. I am going to take it upon myself to solicit everyone's feedback about both apps that don't seem to work right on the Nexus yet AS WELL AS apps that you can't live without. I'll keep two separate lists in this thread to make it easy on anyone who is new to ICS and the Nexus.

Edit: I'm going to try and add a description beside each one as well as a vote count in front of the app (for when it's listed by more than one user). I will also see if I can link the marketplace for each app. (Yeah, I didn't call it Play Store on purpose)

Thanks everyone, that was a big list (and a good one). I have questions about three of the apps so I can properly describe them...

ContactsGroup
DSPManager
GAPPs

Thanks again. I hope this thread takes off, it could offer a REALLY GOOD list of apps.

ContactsGroupU is a way to send group emails and texts.

Dropsync - automatic syncing of selected dropbox folders just like the desktop Dropbox app

Also, HuluPlus is compatible with Android 4.0, it's just not official. There is a working mod on xda somewhere. I use it on my Xoom running 4.0.3 just fine.

gReader - RSS reader with a lot more features and customization and better layout than Google Reader

RootExplorer (or Astro for non-root users)

Titanium Backup for root users

Evernote - great note app, todo lists; allows for pictures, links, rich formatting, and syncs to the cloud

SwitchPro Widget - Nice set of widgets and toggles

ReadItLater - nice reader for saved articles to view later

SoundHound - Identify almost any song with just a few seconds of the song playing

Poweramp Pro - Great music player with nice presets if the google player and equalizer don't cut it for you

iSyncr - Best solution for auto-syncing (true sync both ways) of music to device using iTunes playlists; syncs ratings and playcounts as well.

New one that I realized could be very handy after a relative was in a bad car accident today (he's going to be ok)-- it's an alternative to the iPhone's Find My iPhone. This one is called

Where's My Droid

https://play.google.com/store/apps/...mNvbS5hbGllbm1hbmZjNi53aGVyZXNteWFuZHJvaWQiXQ..

If you lose your phone before having it installed, you can use the lite version and install from play.google.com onto your phone remotely (like any other app) and it will automatically function and be able to report the phone's location.

I also just started using Tango for video calling between Android and iPhones. My family and friends are fairly evenly split between the two, so I wanted something that works with both. What's cool about this one versus the others is that your phone number is more or less used as your username. So anyone that uses Tango is automatically added from your contact list and you don't have to bother asking someone their username like in Skype or whatever. Video quality isn't as good as Facetime, but it's pretty good. It's going to be a godsend for figuring out which item I'm "supposed" to get while shopping. I'm sure a lot of you guys know how that goes.

Added everyone's latest feedback. Special thanks to crankerchick for including short descriptions...very helpful and time-saving for me. I appreciate it!

As for everyone reading but not posting...don't be afraid to list apps that are already on the list...as you can see I'm ranking them and I think it's important for people to know how many users are actually using each app. For example, I don't use Nova Launcher...but 5 people do, so I'm going to check it out.

Keep the feedback coming and maybe one day we can get this thread to be a "sticky".

Doh, totally forgot about a couple ones!

SwiftKey - I use it so much I just forgot that it wasn't the default keyboard
Beautiful Widgets - I use it for the weather widgets mostly
Minimalistic Text - text-based information widget (battery, weather, date, etc)
RealCalc - best scientific calculator I've come across

Let's keep this list going! I've discovered some great apps as a result.
