I've been looking on the forum and others for info on this and its not working right with my contacts. I have two problems.

Sometimes contacts I make save and then when I go to look for them they aren't there?

Next if someone text me and I don't have their contact in my phone their Facebook info is in their contact info. Like phone number, birthday, etc... and I can't save it to my phone?

Thanks

Q#1: Sorry, but it's hard to say what is happening without knowing what accounts you have setup on your phone and what your syncing with(Gmail, Facebook, Corp Email etc.).

Q#2: You have a Facebook account on your phone. When a contact texts/calls you and they are not in your contacts it will pull their info from your friends list in Facebook. All my Facebook friends that I talk to are in my contacts already so I can't verify. But you should be able to open the text and at the top (where the photo and number is) press/hold, View Contact, and Add as New Contact or even an existing contact.

Hope this helps.

I had this issue once before also. Maybe it's the same thing. For one, as much as I like this phone, I hate the way the contacts are setup on this phone. I'm sure I have a combination or Verizon bloatware and Motorola to blame for this.

Here's what I had to do to get some all of my contacts visible.
Go to the contacts app. Hit the menu button. Select display options. There many be several options here, depending on how many accounts you have setup on your phone. For me, most of mine I sync to my gmail/google account. So I would select Google, under where is says "choose contacts to display". It will drop down with several other options to select, like any categories you have setup. For me, I found that I some of the boxes de-selected. I selected said box, went back to the contacts list and suddenly the contacts I was looking for where now visible.

Again, I don't know that your contacts will be under the Google drop down area, or another. But if you have contacts missing, that you know you saved, they are probably in some category that is not setup to show all the time.

Thanks guys all great input! Here's what I got:

For accounts I have:
2 Gmail, Hotmail, Facebook, motocast.

My main Gmail is my phone one and that's where most my contacts are from. I unslected the Facebook account for contacts because it put all my Facebook friends with numbers on there Facebook and that was over 400 people! So i don't have that selected. When I unclicked the different acounts I found most my contacts are under my Gmail account. So here's my questions:

Where do those Gmail contacts save on my Gmail account?

When I unclick all the options and have what is called "un-synced contacts" how do i transfer those to the Gmail account?

Do I need the motocast account?

Thanks!

GMail contacts are stored in the cloud. It would make sense that they are also on the phone for when the phone is off the network, but I don't know where. The phone will sync with Google servers whenever you boot, or periodically when on.

You only need to set up Motocast if you want to leave your PC/Laptop running and then have access to files, photos, or music streamed over the network to your phone.

I'm still researching the issue of moving the contacts into the Gmail account. I don't have any unsynced contacts and haven't had this problem, so I don't know, yet.
