First, about safestrap:
When flashing a ROM, it nakes a backup of the system I'm coming off of, I understand that, but how complete is the backup? Does it back up user settings, so if I need to revert, does it restore everything or do I still need to activate and restart?
Second:
SIM cards are a new thing to me, SIM card affect flashing ROMs? Or do I only need to worry about it when I switch phones or swap to one of my other numbers on my account?

Just trying to understand the dynamics of flashing ROMs on my new device, so far, I'm liking what I see, but I need to figure out how things are done on this one, and forget how it's done on the X for now.

Safestrap basically makes a partition of /system and duplicates everything. So when you flash a ROM it only affects the Safe side (unsafe side is the stock side).

The backup the program makes automatically is only for the purpose of switching back and forth between unsafe (stock) and safe sides. That being said, when you switch to the unsafe (stock) side everything is as you left it.

BUT if you screwed up something on the unsafe (stock) side and tried to flash one of those auto back ups it wouldn't help you. So if you use safestrap make a nandroid back up on the unsafe (stock) side just in case.

I have been flipping back and forth flashing roms for about 2 months without issue.

I may have a few, but I'm a pretty quick study and may end up helping others in the process.
Thanks for the offer, I hope we can get this board going as well as the X forum, it was (and sometimes still is) pretty busy over there, I think the RAZR has the potential to be a pretty decent platform from what I can tell so far,
