Hello Hero owners...

Does anyone think we'll see 2.1 late March early April ?

With the Legend and Desire due out shortly both running Sense over 2.1. I personally think the update will coincide with their release.

What's everyone else's opinion ?

Search in google, top 3 sites say 2.1 to come on HTC Hero mid March....

Never say never...

EDIT: Also HTC released the 2.1 firmware to Hero developers in January...

t mobile said its coming in april so theres a good chance its out already lol im sure the hero should be gettin it in march so may peeps saying so

I think we'll see it the day after the launch of The Legend & Desire. Which is about the 12th April it think.

Nor can I . I'm just hoping orange don't brand it and I'm aloud to use stock. I'm having network issues with wap I think its cus of branding. Hopefully ill get a reply from HTC soon

Bad news for you mez, Orange will be branding their version of 2.1. You really shouldn't be having any issues with wap, have you posted a question with details of your problem? I'm on Orange and from day one I've had no problems with any aspect of the phone software or hardware.

yeah i have didnt really get much info back from here, orange, or htc. the reason why i thought it was the orange branding causing problems was because no one else who i know on orange with a hero in hte same location as me is having the same problem. only difference? they have unbranded heros from phones4u and other 3rd party dealers. even with a fresh format no apps still same problem.

I spoke to an a guy from orange the other day, and he said the buzz he was getting from orange is "its probably going to be by the end of the month..."

Will this firmware update only be available to those using Windows computers? I don't really have access to a Windows computer and not really wanting to install it *just* for upgrading my firmware!

buhsnarf, your best bet is to contact HTC, I did and they were very very helpful. Do you have a friends PC or Mac(I'm not 100% sure you can use a Mac) you can use? Or maybe try the local library or internet cafe?

If the leaked Eris ROM (from DECEMBER '09!) is anything to go by.. it's gonna be worth it.

Both in terms of new features and improvements with speed and battery life.

i cant wait to get 2.1 so many features that i want to use! like the ability to have both my own google account and my wifes so i can see both calendars, etc! not to mention all the 2.1 apps out there!

Thanks for the video Manzrif, it's official I'm excited again! Although I've just started using Open Home and the various widgets it'll be good to use my Hero with without it and a bigger selection of HTC widgets.
