Root My LG Connect battery lasts 2 hours. :|

Is your device running hot?

Yes. It usually sits around 105 degrees F to 130 degrees F. I am not shitting you when I say literally put ice packs (that don't leak water) on the back of the phone to cool it down. I put it under when it sits to charge at night, because it usually overheats when charging. I rooted the phone, and used Titanium Backup to remove bloatware, and even had to delete my favorite apps (Go Launcher Ex, GO SMS, ExDialer) so that my phone battery may stand a chance. It still only sits around 2 hours to 3 hours with regular use.

Return to stock and get a warranty replacement, that's far too hot.

yeah if you use it a lot throughout the day your battery is not gonna last long. im currently 15 hours plus into my battery but thats with light use throughout the day. i would suggest you turn you 4g off and only use it when you need it.

other than that there isnt much you can do except wait until someone comes out with an adequate extended battery. if they give us a 3000mah extended battery like they did with the esteem we'd be set.

the heating issue is because the dinky 1540 mah battery for this phone is being overworked.

Just to be sure. I unrooted my phone and I plan on returning it today. But if returning it will not correct the overheating(I already replaced the battery with a 1800mah didnt help). I just as soon keep it because it is a great phone. It is just a little irritating to have to time my usage so it doesnt get hot. Playing games is out of the question because it gets hot
the faster when playing time. Should I just deal with it ?

if you're doing heavy gaming on the phone 1800mah isnt gonna cut it especially if these games are online and you're on 4g(the 4g is the main culprit for battery drain and overheating).

the highest rated battery i've seen for the connect is a 1900mah.

we'll have to wait for a 3000mah battery to be released. the esteem got one.

As far as the battery consumption goes, you may want to consider using a battery saver app such as "Battery XL".
This app has helped in conserving battery consumption on my Galaxy . Also there are higher Mah batteries available thru eBay. Altho I'm aware that this will Not address or fix the overheating issues on your device. Hopefully you can get this resolved through contacting technical support of the manufacturer as suggested by the other posts.
best of luck on the fix!

there is only one way to get max capacity from a stock 1540mah battery. First thing is to drain battery till phone shuts completely down(no metropcs splash screen, or keys lit up). Plug it charger and let it balance itself(home keys flashing). do this process about 2-5 times and you will see a diffrence right there. Then install juice defender(thats what i use, never tried others. your preference) and set it to aggresive. i dont have a exact life span but its atleast double from phone out of box. after cycling my battery about 5 times now it really lasts. and it doesnt get hott unless im using it obviously, charging or not. thats my experience so far. seems to be a great phone. better than my esteem. wish it had hdmi though! good luck all!

what CmptrCapone did was a battery calibration, that was the first thing i did when i got my phone or any other devices that required charging, fully charge the battery with phone on/off, when fully charged disconnect from the charger, just use the phone till it shuts itself off, repeats 3 to 5 times, doing this will prolong the battery life.

ok, lets start from the top. most lithium battery packs have more than one cell(eigther in parrellel or series). Put in series increases voltage and parralel in creases mah. lithium cells are 3.7 volts each. So in theory 2 cells with 500mah each in series would give 7.4 volts and 500mah, but put them in parallel and you have 3.7 volts and 1000mah. Even though they may classify these batteries as one cell batteries there are two pshycial cells acting as one, and the voltages have to be in synch so one cell dosnt get more or less of a load. Thats the biggest key in lipo or lithium performance and its tottaly normal to do this every 5th battery cycle. Basically once a week. I race 10th scale electric touring car and offroad truck for 10 years. ive had they best lipo batteries(thunderpower) and chargers(hyperion) and ive spent thousand on this stuff, believe me lipo is the best dc powersource you can have but they need attention to get max life and capacity. following simple guide lines you can prolly get 3-5 hundred life cycles(charges) before replacing. If you have any questions, google it. I see alot of people asking alot of questions on here, silly questions sometimes. Do the work, do your research and learn like we did. trash a couple phones and you will deffinetly learn something. anyways sorry for the bash on the noobs. Google is the best tool i have!

When lithium batteries are in series the cell count goes up. a 7.4 volt pack is a 2 cell pack etcetra. A single cell(3.7 volts) may have more than one cell but its in parrelel to increase milliamps not voltage. these cells have to be balanced at all times, when they are out of balance you will experience hot battery pack temps and short life span. This is just to clear the air on my last post if i confused anyone.
