Hi, looking for some help:

I am getting bad quality sound from the phone jack, it's definitely no stereo, and it sounds like from a room next door. I ruled out it's a headphone problem by switching to other headsets and problem remains.

Any idea what is the source of the problem? Would changing the jack flex assembly work and how difficult could that be? My phone is given to me and out of warranty so looking for any way to fix it. Thanks for any advice.

It happens when phone dosent support that accessory. For example, My Play dosent support HTC handsfree & visa-versa. So use handsfree which are compitable with your phone. It happens because the jack have different settings. Try to connect PC headphones in your phone one time & check if it is working properly. And if it dose work then you got the solution i told you above.

Or else there is problem in your port !

I've got the same problem with the SG2 earphones. I am definitely pushing in the connector as far as it will go into the jack, but there seems to be an incompatibility between the two:

- The SG2's output sounds fine when I use another set of headphones (I've only tried some with the standard stereo connector - No mic or volume control).
- The SG2's earphones sound fine when I plug them into my PC.
- But SG2's output using the SG2 earphones is mono* and the quality is poor. It affects some music tracks more than others. On one particular track, the female vocals almost disappear completely.

*Testing with the "Left/Right Stereo Test" from Sound Tests and Audio Test Tones the volume of both the left and right tests are the same through both earpieces. I also tried the "Swept Sine (20-20.000Hz)" but couldn't notice any particular tone missing there while testing the the SG2 earphones.

It might be a minor problem with the jack. I'll have to try get hold of another set of SG2 earphones and see if they are any different, or try my earphones in someone else's SG2.

I have the identical issues and have done the same tests. Is there a solution or do I just need to find headphones that work?

It's strange that the headphones that come with it do this. I've tested them on my computer and they work just fine.
