Doing fab! :) How about you?

Still using my Evo as a wifi appliance, still really enjoying my 3vo.

But that 3-way camera comparison really surprised me about the One. Not just the camera, but the overall shape and form factor looked better than the Sony and GNex, to me anyway.

Doing well. Enjoying the photon. Gonna be a tough decision for me if I decide to upgrade.

I dont know why the video I saw says it shoots in 1080P but then I read it is a 720P screen. One thing I hope they fix is AUDIO on video recording.. a lot of my friends have iPhones. The sound on the video is great, even when the sound it very very loud. On the evo, the sound distorts so bad you can use the video at all.

Size comparisons :)

122.0 x 66.0 x 13.0 mm @ 170 g -> Evo 4G
126.0 x 65.0 x 12.1 mm @ 170 g -> Evo 3D
134.4 x 69.9 x .8.9 mm @ 130 g -> One X

Screen resolutions

480 x .800 : 217 ppi
540 x .960 : 256 ppi
720 x 1280 : 312 ppi

Screen sizes

Evo 4G @ 15:9 w/ 4.3" -> 2.21" x 3.69" -> 8.16 in^2
Evo 3D @ 16:9 w/ 4.3" -> 2.11" x 3.75" -> 7.90 in^2
One X .@ 16:9 w/ 4.7" -> 2.30" x 4.10" -> 9.43 in^2

Expect dimension changes, especially in weight, depending on battery size, etc.

one supplier would be nice but im more concerned about having SLCD-2, thats a must for me

Problem here is that SLCD-2, like the Super LCD moniker before it, is a marketing term. Neither are LCD technology terms, they indicate zero about quality or how the screen actually works.

Using the 3D as an example, many of us got Sharp panels, using ASV technology with nearly correct gamma adjustments. Meanwhile, many others got a really crappy substitute and believe to this day that the 3D screen was total trash.

Yet the 3D was spec'd with the famous Super LCD, and because there is no such thing, no spec violation occurred.

That's the issue that I have here - I absolutely prefer a high quality LCD panel, but because there's no such thing as SLCD-2, the door is open to pull the same stunt.

Apple focused on an actual technology name and because Android makers didn't, the blogosphere of self-proclaimed experts declared IPS superiority over all SLCD, which according to many of those bozos, LCD types are: IPS, SLCD and TFT-LCD. One was a technology, one a marketing term and the last is the class of most all LCD displays. So, they compared something, but they never knew what it was.

Whatever technology the One X is using for LCD seems exciting, but it would be nice to know what it is.

I dont know why the video I saw says it shoots in 1080P but then I read it is a 720P screen.

It shoots in 1080P so that if you like, you can transport it to your 1080P hdtv.

The video processing subsystem includes a scaler, just like an hdtv, so you input a host of video resolution movies or images and they all get converted to the screen's native resolution, 720P in this case.

idk, i think that my speaker on my OG EVO is crap compared to even my 8 year old flip phone. i could actually have a speaker phone conversation on that thing but my evo is all "hel(Crackkklee) (crackleee)ou crackkle sphhhshhphshpsh"

it sucks

My Evo 4G is fine...once I drop it a few time I had that issue! Recently fix my phone! I not comparing old school phone's, cause my lil sister refuses to get a new phone and has a old school nextel phone and that thing is a walking stereo! I'm referring smartphone to smartphone! Old school phone speakers are on another level:cool:

There seems to be a lot of variations even within models. My wife and I bought Evo3D's at launch. Both are pretty weak with their speakers, although they don't sound tinny or poor quality, just quiet. Mine seems louder than hers does by a noticeable amount. After installing Equalizer, I also noticed that the same settings on both phones,in sounds richer than hers, though the volume seems about equal.

The speaker is probably the biggest disappointment about the phone for me. Not a Deal breaker, because I use bluetooth headsets most of the time, and at home my wife uses either the Phillips Fidelio speaker dock, or a little parabolic bowl mount, which makes it plenty loud.

Engadget has a review of the international HTC One X (and the One S) up, and they are flabbergasted by it. If the HTC Evo One is anything like the One X (international), Sprint will have a definite winner on its hands. Phandroid said the Evo One isn't supposed to be the flagship phone (that's Sprint's GN), but I think it's going to be a tough sell once the Evo One hits for people who don't care about vanilla ICS.

It's interesting that Engadget thought the camera was one of the best, if not the best and The Verge wasn't too impressed with it...

Google flubbed up by allowing VZW to have such a long period of exclusivity. In any event, the 'EVO One' should be bad ass.

The Verge and Engadget both have reviews up for the One S and One X.

One X
HTC One X review | The Verge
HTC One X review -- Engadget

One S
HTC One S review -- Engadget
HTC One S review | The Verge

While the Evo will be based off the One X, the reviews above are for the Tegra 3 equipped X. The One S runs on the S4 chip so it's worth a read.

See more reviews at the top of the One X and One S forums respectively in the sticky threads.

The reviews sure have been fun to read. Thanks for calling out the One S reviews along with the One X reviews (from the same sources) in the same breath, it provides for a clearer comparison.

Also thanks for re-iterating the processor difference. I thought it so curious and strange to see the One S Benchmarking higher than the One X in some categories, while reading One X reviews, but had completely forgotten in the review rush that they were built on different architectures and that HTC wanted to throw a curveball by changing up the processors. The fact that there are two different models - X and S, compounded by the fact that US models will likely be different and each unique in certain ways, makes this a whole new ball game to get used to. It feels alot different that instead of getting completely different phones we are going to be getting extremely similar phones with slightly different iterations probably. It has happened quite a bit in the past that some phones have been quite similar but different, but this seems like a much more purposeful approach on HTC's part.

I've wasted way too much time at work today reading reviews. As someone else noted earlier, this is the first phone since the OG Evo that's got me really excited. I can't wait to hear more details on this thing. I like my Photon and am interesting to hear what Moto has next, but I haven't been very impressed with either of the RAZRs.

The processor difference doesn't bother me that much. I don't use my phone for heavy gaming, so the Tegra 3 is not a big advantage for me. The more efficient (and apparently faster at daily tasks) S4 is far more appealing. Plus, if the rumors hold true and we get our beloved kickstand back, I'll dance a jig. :)
