Need information about app for my S II

hi.. m new to android and new to S II also.. this awesome mobile giving me tension of application to install, from where, and what not to ..

So as u guys are so genius in this part i need ur help..

1. plz suggest me things i should know about my device...

2. Applications u use..
a. For security..
b. For maintenance of phone..
c. widgets and other applications like for pictures, camera, themes, et...

3. Where from i can get them.. Is it necessary to root my mobile.. because i don;t want to spoil my mobile warranty.. So plz guide for same..

I hacked my N73 for N-gage when it was launched.. was fun but don;t want to take risk with my costly and precious S II

Will be glad to get ur answers... thankx in advance..

its very simple -
1- setup your phone and enjoy it.
2- It is not necessary to root the phone.
3- as for security apps, I dont use any. I use common sense when it comes to installing apps.
4- as for maintenance - not sure what maintenance you need.

1. m reading tips and tricks topic
2. i don;t want to pay for any application.. so..
3. many people say AVG, avast etc for security use.. like scanning and and phone protection
4. by maintenance i mean like battery saver, cookies or data cleaner, task killer etc..

For my SG2 I used;
1: Applications; Launcher- Go Launcher EX, SMS- GoSMS Pro, Beautiful Widgets for my home screen, Dolphin- web browser, Lux- screen brightness management, K9 mail for email, Tapatalk for forums, Tunein for online radio, Veetle to watch movies, FoxFi for teethering, CraigsNotifica for craigslist...

a: security; Lookout- it scans for malware and it can help you locate your phone if lost, Wifi Protector to protect you when on wifi at a cafe shop, AirPush Detector to let you know what apps are pushing you ads,

b: maintenance; cachemate to clean cache

Root if you want to unlock features or improve performance:
1. To improve your 3g speed, lag issues and want a more faster respond- check out Zeppelinrox's V6 Supercharger on XDA Developers

2. Titanium BackUp to freeze apps or back up apps

3 AppMonster to backup apps and move apps to SD card

4. Root Explorer to locate files on your phone

5. GL to SD- move your games folder content to your external sd card

6. AdFree- reduce or take away ads from apps

7. Juice Defender- helps you with getting more out of your battery.

I have two extended batteries that give me extra power...
