I finally found a Prime here in town....I got the last one they had at HH Gregg. So I've had it plugged in for probably a half hour or 45 minutes, but it's still not coming on. There is a little oragnge light on the power button when it's plugged in, but when I hold the power button down it the screen remains blank. Does it need to charge a good while before it will start up, or am I missing something?

When I got mine and pluged it in for the first charge it came right on but I've heard that some come with very little charge and it takes a while until it gets above a certain charge level. If you have the orange light it is charging. I actually turned mine off and let it charge for the full recommended 8 hours before turning it on again.

One other thing, you have to press and hold the button until you feel the vibration then it will boot.

You don't know how bad I wanted to play with mine when I first plugged it in and it came on. Luckily I had come home on my lunch break because my wife said it had arrived and I didn't have much time so I turned it off to charge until I got home that night. I can't imagine how frustrated you were with your new toy sitting there just waiting.
BTW. This thing ROCKS!

Yeah, it came on this morning. I was just hoping I could turn it on during the initial charge so I could run through the set up and updates.

Glad you got a Transformer Prime!

I had read your post, asking if you should get the Galaxy Tab 10.1 or the Transformer Prime.

I was looking at the Galaxy Tab for months! They were demoing them, when they first came out, at a local shopping area and I couldn't keep from trying it out.

Glad I ended up waiting.... I didn't even know what I was necessarily waiting for, I just didn't pull the trigger on the Tab.

Months later, I saw a Transformer Prime at Best Buy (the demo... they were out of stock), went home and read up on them, and decided I had to have one!

So far, after about a week, I'm loving it! (My wifi works flawlessly, so far!)

Hope you continue to enjoy yours! Keep us posted.

Don't let the na-sayers get you down. I got my Prime December 27th so it's one of the first ones out of the chute and I've had zero problems (execpt GPS which I don't care about) and my WiFi connects anywhere I go. My laptop has a hard time connecting at work sometimes but the Prime is always connected there. I can even connect in my detached garage at home and it's at least 30 yards from the house/router through the house wall and the garage wall. I consistantly get two bars or better out there.
Enjoy your new toy.
