The best phone out there?

I'm waiting to try out the Samsung Note.
Had the Nexus, nice phone and all, but it was too big for one use.
Now I'm using the Galaxy S2 and lovin' it!!! Beautiful colors and perfect size for my one-hand use.
I would have to say the Galaxy Nexus for me, I just got it and I'm totally in love with it. Money no object right? The HD 720p screen is better than the S2's screen imo, and I'm a 17 year old. The phone fits my hands perfectly :p

Yeah I would have to agree with you huy_lonewolf, I would be bias if I wasn't. I still prerfer the stock android UI over the HTC Sense though. Google seems to never fail me with software and web design. But I still prefer Samsung over HTC and the One series is pretty new, wait for the S3 and see who'll be laughing then :p

If I were to get a phone today, I'd probably pick up a Galaxy S2. The Note is nice (I just played with one today, actually), but it would not fit in my pocket or my cupholder (where I have a line in jack to my car stereo). But I basically wanted to play with a SAMOLED screen. And I have to say it's a decent improvement over Super LCD. It's not like OMG awesome improvement, but it's pretty good looking. If you're looking for something to be on par (give or take) with the iPhone's retina display, you do need to get an AMOLED. As for S2 vs GNex, I have no qualms about rooting, so the S2 + AOSP ROM (like CM7 or CM9 when it comes out) would equal about the same experience as a GNex, but the S2 has better hardware.

But I'm going to, personally, wait to see how the HTC Evo One (One X, or whatever you want to call it on whatever carrier is calling it that) stands up to the Galaxy S3. That should be interesting.

So to answer your questions on your post, this phone will need to be a phone that's already released and it was my choice to have....

I'd probably go with the HTC One X though I've never used it. I would buy it because I'm just curious. I can't say it would be the best but that would be the phone that I would buy....right now.

I don't think any one can really say for you. All I can say is I'm loving my SGSII, but I also still like my Nokia N900 and I liked my Nokia N8 (mainly because as a user I know Symbian backwards) before I sold it.

All I recommend is looking at the specs, narrowing it down to say five models, then go and have a play, make written notes if you need to. Then pick one.

I'm loving my Atrix 4G. Its the perfect size and I can use it with one hand. I have the Lapdock, which I use a lot and love it too. The battery life is pretty good, love the camera and video. Video games play very well and love the screen resolution and colors. Very fast when multitasking and has a really good sounding external speaker. Will be getting ICS in the third quarter this year.

Just looking for opinions..
What do you think is the best phone out there currently?

To YOU and your budget ignored, if you could have any phone which one would it be?

Try not to be biassed and provide reasons please :)

PS. I know its an Android site, but still
yea

Based on what I can see in videos, I really want a Galaxy Note. It just looks stunning, and I would love the pen functionality.
true

I'm deep and utterly in love with Xperia S's 342ppi 720p screen.
right

iPhone 4s

the reason...it has the most haters on Android forums because it strikes fear into their hearts because its so fast and powerful. :D

ok to get to the facts, it uses ios which as we all know is better than Android in some ways, for example you don't need to install performance boosters and advanced task killers to stop the phone from lagging.

It's simpler to use

it has the far superior stock browser.

I hear the battery life is excellent too.

so definitely iPhone 4s.

I too realize that the iPhone has the most number of haters, simply because of its limited functionality and being highly overpriced. Above all, it comes from a company that values lies over reality (if you don't believe me, please read the book Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson and see for yourself) and Apple is the most unsportsmanlike company I have ever seen (remember the whole iphone 4 antenna issue?) . And you are clearly misinformed about the iPhone 4S as well:
1/ It has the far superior stock browser => Have you ever used ICS stock browser on a HTC phone? It is the fastest browser on mobile now, and the text reflow functionality does not exist on iOS, which is just a killer feature for Android.
2/ Battery life is excellent => thousands of people on Apple forum beg to differ. You probably haven't heard of the whole issue with Iphone 4S where it will discharge 10% of battery every hour on idle. Since then, even with later release with iOS 5, the problem is not solved yet. And don't forget many other problems with iOS 5 alone (ringtone repeating unexpectedly, etc..).
3/ Regarding your assertion that iOS is better than Android, I think that is your personal choice and I won't argue with you. Nevertheless, my fellow member at XDA Developer can elaborate the point better than me:
Android Vs iOS The Truth about Apple and Google's OS Part 1 - YouTube
Personally, I don't take an OS without true multitasking very seriously.
4/ And lastly, what power are you talking about? Try showing your power to me by playing youtube full HD 1080p in your browser and then we will talk.

Most here are grown up and don't hate a bit of plastic and metal....or love them either. I have a preference (which may change) and have actually used apple among other hardware manufacturers but for now android is where it's at for me. The loyalty fires of love this phone and hate that phone are pointless.

I would have to say the HTC Amaze 4g. Its extremely fast, doesnt bog down. the screen is even bright in sunlight. Great battery life as well. Screen wake up when you want as well. Call quality is superb even with like almost no bars. Sound quality and speaker placement is great. One thing that really stood out is its noie cancelling ability it does not pick up alot of background noise. Its a solid feeling phone as well and lots of accessories are out there for it. Its also slated for ICS as well.
