back up tool/ghost imaging

good find, too bad lg did not come with a software and you could backup your phone to your pc. my old motorola v3t & nokia 6102 had a feature like that but it may have only been for my photo's,vids, etc. not the actual entire image of the phone itself. just more $ grabbing rogers loves to do. lol

Yes Rogers has a service called Mobile Backup, I wanted to get voicemail and I saw a deal for Enhanced Voicemail which has Voicemail/Call Display/Name Display/Mobile Backup, So I called in to make sure it was availiable for my LG Eve and after talking with the Service Agent I added it to my plan and guess what... My phone is not supported, what a shock. Why offer me this if I cannot use it? But it gives you a list of supported devices if you are looking for a way to backup. If you are looking just to backup your contacts and calendar then try Gmail, I use it and it works great, It syncs your phone to your online account, after I did a factory reset all I did was sign into my Gmail account on my cell and within a few seconds my contacts were synced and my calendar plus it also stores all your contact pictures to.

As was mentioned above Gmail account backs calendar and phone book. If you have APPs and other things to backup I suggest "MyBackup Pro" by Rerware it's paid APP and you can buy it from their website (if you do disable "Unknown sources" in settings under applications, before downloading). You also will need "ASTRO" file Manager ( it's FREE on the Market)so you can access your SD card. If you reset your phone or whatever you probably will have to install ASTRO first and then reinstall MyBackup and then restore all your apps, SMS etc. If you go this rout and use MyBackup DO NOT select "contacts" or "calendar" (or if you want MyBackup to save them and not Google, you have to uncheck them in Settings under Data Synchronization) otherwise you will have doubling entries in your Contacts after reboot.
I hope this will help.
Cheers:cool:

You can also have a look at WaveSecure, which is free for Android devices until the end of march. They charge around 20 $ par year for the service but it will remain free forever (they say forever, but they also publish on their that you have to keep the SAME phone to have it forever but that is still a good deal anyway).

With it installed, not only you can backup your contacts or your call log, but also other files online on your account, but you can also lock/track a lost/stolen phone. I downloaded it and it works fine on my LG. At some point, after an upgrade, il was doing a forced crash, but uninstalling and reinstalling it fixed the problem.

Look for it on the market. I think it worths the try ;)
