hey guys, just have a quick question. my contract was up last week (at&t) and i'm in the market for a new phone. the old P.O.S. flip phone i have is about to kick the bucket, dropping calls, sending messages to wrong people, ect... so i'm looking to buy a new phone. the thing is, i've been set on getting the galaxy s2 (non-skyrocket, i live in a area that's definetly not going to be getting LTE anytime soon) for a while now. all the reviews i've read on it say its a great all around phone, and one of the best on at&t. but now i see the htc one x coming out. the reviews on it say its going to be a great phone, but its not supposed to be coming out until at least may. so i was just wondering whether you guys think its a big enough jump over the gs2 to wait the month with my dinosaur phone, or whether the difference between their performance won't be that big?

thanks

It looks pretty neat, but is pretty much the same specs as the Galaxy S II with the addition of the LTE service, which essentially makes it more comparable to the Skyrocket. Nothing really jumps out at me as far as specs are concerned though, although it will have 4.0 ICS preloaded onto it (Galaxy S II should get that same update in the coming months according to at&t). Honestly, it depends whats important to you as a phone user (battery life, talk time, internet speeds?). Try phonescoop.com and do a side by side comparison if you want to look into it more, but at this point I say the phone for you would be the Galaxy S II. I have had it for since it came out and haven't had a problem yet.

The HTC One X is supposed to be the leader in the next generation of Android phones (just like how the SII was during 2011). With that said, if you're going to wait for the One X, you might as well as wait to see what Samsung will release for the SIII. The One X has got raving reviews, and it's blowing everything out of the water, but only because it's the first in its new generation of phones. The SIII will be a competitor, so I'd definitely wait to see how the One X rivals up to its other brothers first.

With that said, the SII is an amazing phone. I honestly feel like once you hit the dual core stage, you won't notice too much of a difference on everyday performance. There definitely is a difference in everyday performance between a single core phone (e.g. Infuse 4G) and a dual core phone (SII), but I just can't imagine just how much more blazing and buttery smooth it can get from where the SII stands (don't get me wrong, the SII isn't perfect, it has its bugs and issues, but overall, it's pretty perfect for me).

I'd also look at the screen size. If you like larger screens, the One X has a much bigger screen than the SII. However, I prefer my screen size to be 4.3" (my previous phone, the Infuse 4G was 4.5" and I actually found it uncomfortable to use for typing or with using it with one hand).

Like the previous poster said, really look at what factors are important for you.
