Root [ROM][BOOST/SPRINT][ZVC]Marky Beats v2 beta[updated 7/30]

Ti hangs when trying to restore music.apk or a full restore of all apps? If you have Music.apk installed and just used a file explorer and deleted music.apk from /system/apps then you could try to paste it there and uninstall again.. If not Id try to get a fresh ROM flashed and if it doesn't come with music.apk try installing it and if it does and does not work try uninstalling then reinstalling again. @ worst case, wouldn't a factory reset fix the issue either way?

When I try to install both ways throught apk menu or paste in folder it either fails or doesn't show up what should I do is there a way to go back to the regular MB Without ZVC since it didn't have the play music app?

When you try to paste it in the /system/apps folder does it try to make you install? Or can you paste it in w/o installing? I would think if you reflashed MB ZVC and did a factory reset after you could get music.apk installed. With a fresh ROM (without restoring) See if Music.apk is in your apps, if not then an install of it should work after that. Otherwise I am at a loss... I know I have Music.apk but that is because It restored with Ti when I flashed to MB v1.2.

Here's an idea for the 1X issue. Goto dailer and enter ##program855 then press send. You should get a prompt for service code, enter 000000.

Next goto "Network Select", then "Mode Preference" and make sure "Digital Only Hybrid" is selected. Then back out and phone should reboot.

See if that helps you any.

Nothing happens when I try that code. Alternate method(s) of changing that setting?

Monster, I'm a total noob when it comes to roms. I went exploring in the MBv1.2SPTzvc zip. I opened up build prop and was comparing with playfulgod's build prop for sprint. On yours I see some things that look incorrect to me. Example on yours for sprint I see this
#ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric=310120
ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric=311870
#gsm.operator.alpha=Sprint
gsm.operator.alpha=Boost Mobile
#gsm.operator.numeric=310120
gsm.operator.numeric=311870

doesn't # = ignore ??

Alright, I'm pretty much ready to do this but I'm kinda confused as to what files I need to use to root my Sprint Marquee; there seems to be multiple methods.

Could somebody point me in the direction of the correct root files/instructions and CWM files for the Sprint Marquee.

This post should put you in the right direction.. Thanks to PlayfulGod!

I never tried the the phone, but on the unlock screen I saw boost mobile and not sprint. I tried to unzip the rom, edit the build.prop and rezip and install but I guess winrar in zip mode doesn't work as the update wouldn't work. I then reinstalled your rom and pasted the build.prop from this post and left your edits on the bottom in /system. My screen now shows "SPRINT" and the phone does work.

so i came to thinking. i've been rooting since i've had an android which has been since the mt3g back when those phones were top of the line. i remember a couple things that those had that these roms are lacking. the ability to control your music player from the lock screen. also being able to skip or go back on the songs by holding down the volume keys. is this something that might be possible in the future?

Well here it is, Boost Mobile LG855ZVC!!

I do notice the baseband is sprint, but so far I guess it isn't an issue. Couple things I'd like to mention:
1)Bluetooth is not working again. (I can pair with my PC to use my PC speakers as speakerphone/music player, just not FTP again.) Well I had read by 'MrMondayNight' his BT issue was caused by Music.apk. I also noticed I didn't have it installed. Not sure wat fixed my BT FTP, but I installed PlayerPro and Installed Music.apk and all of a sudden BT FTP is working again. I did uninstall Music.apk and BT still working fine. So I am a little confused on what fixed this, but I can say it is worth a shot if you are experiencing an issue w/ BT.
2)For some odd reason now I cannot send E-Mails or E-Mail attachments via GMail.apk. However I can receive e-mails and attachments. [Only reason i mention this is because this is how I would transfer files from my phone to my PC w/o using BT.] After I went back into CWM and wiped cache and went into advanced options and fixed permissions, as others have posted on playful's undeniable ROM thread, I was able to get Gmail to work again!
3)I noticed that Carrier IQ Detector still says that Carrier IQ is installed and active. Flashed Bloodawn's Hyper kernel, and it has made CIQ Inactive!
4)I also cannot use Font Installer app to change my fonts. After I updated BusyBox it has fixed this issue.
5)-Which really is a personal preference- Boot.ani has reverted to Blue Beats, instead of Flashing Blue Android.. Had a better Look I feel. After extracting the bootanimatiion.zip from /system/media from MBv1.2BST.zip (before MB v1.2zvc), I used Root Explorer to paste it to my phones /system/media folder and overwrote the existing one. Then changed permissions to rw--r--r, and worked great! Thanks for the help on this one |MONSTER|!!
And a quck question, are we able to use CRT with this or will that still revert the Battery Status Icon?

And have to say I am loving the Swype Theme!!!!!!!! Amazing!(Not sure if this has been implemented earlier or not because I always restore with TiBU, but I am digging it way better!)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also wanted to mention I received these errors at the end of the boostupdate.zip install:

E: can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E: can't mount /cache/recovery//log
E: can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well that is all for now.. Thanks Again ALOT! goes to |Monster|!!!

(I know this may not matter with the update from |Monster| comeing soon, just wanted to put this in the right thread.)

-That would be nice. I had PowerAmp installed and could use that from the lock screen, though I had to unlock the music lock screen and then the regular one.. Was nice however, to be able to skip tracks and what not without unlocking. I am not for certain on this, but I would assume right now they are working on just making the Official ROM to get out of Beta Stage. Then can move forward with tweaks and add-ons.-
Either way |Monster| is one hell of a guy to make such an awesome ROM and update as needed efficiently, instead of leaving you with a half done ROM with issues. :D

I use PlayerPro instead of stock music. It has the ability to skip tracks or change volume from the lock screen using the volume rocker. You can set the volume rocker to skip tracks on long hold and change volume on short hold or vice versa. It's a paid app though but with the help of goggle you can get the app for free.
