Any teething problems so far?

Hi guys, I have yet to get the 'S', but will be very soon!

I'm just interested to know if any owners have experienced any issues with it so far? I'm an Xperia X10 owner and rue the day I rushed out to get it!

Thanks!

I have had it for a couple of days now, I wasnt that bothered to be honest about upgrading from my Desire, could have gone sim only for 12 months but Vodafone offered me a good deal so went for it, and I'm glad I did, its a lot faster, smoother and clearer, a little bit bigger than my Desire which I was a little concerned about but find it even better than I expected, the only bad thing I can think of is if it will survive a fall to the ground as it feels really flimsy, maybe because it's that thin that's why I'm a little bit weary but the experts reckon it's 5 times more robust than previous models.

So am I happy?? Yeah to right I am, glad I got.

Oh and I've had no issues with it so far.

My wife's contract had ran out and Vodafone didnt really offer us a good deal so asked for her PAC and ordered through a web site to change to T-mobile, the offer was 300 min, unlimited texts and 250mb of internet, 3 days later Vodafone rand me back to ask why I was cancelling, I told them of the deal I was going for, they said would I be prepared to stay with them if they would match it, I said yes, they offered 300 min, unlimited texts and 500mb of internet per month, they also said I could upgrade my phone early (wasnt due till the end of June) all for

I experienced random crashes/reboots in the first few days. (I have a sim free, unbranded handset). contacted HTC support who suggested primary cause could be third-party apps that are not compatible with Ice Cream Sandwich.
have removed the majority of the apps, did a hard factory reset and now carefully reinstalling the apps day by day to see if I can isolate the problem. Will update here if I do.

These apps can't be removed :( I may root, not for a good while though

Through the "manage apps" route you get the option to "disable" (it's reversible too) any apps you don't want which means they no longer appear in the apps drawer.

Also, apps can be moved from "Internal Sorage" to "Phone Storage" in the same way as you'd move apps to an SD card.

Always been with ThreeUK, but since I moved to a new place I have no signal indoors what so ever, rang Three to get my PAC code(just a week before launch of One S), they promised to solve my problem with their new Home Signal and offer a good deal on HTC One S, so I decided to wait... Week later I rang them and asked if they can offer me any good deal on it(I have been with ThreeUK for 4 years), and was really disappointed as they couldn't even match deals from other providers... Since then received tons of calls from Three, most of them went to Voice Mail(due to lack of signal), but when I could answer - every time they offered me worst possible deals, some of them for more than

Thread was started to see if owners have any issues with the handset, not the network they're on!

These things happen; it's a new forum and, I'm guessing, doesn't yet have a moderator to move off topic stuff to a new thread.
I was also guilty of moving off topic when answering the cost question but I do appreciate that with a thread entitled " Any teething problems so far" we ought to try to stay with that theme.

Not all good here I'm afraid. Battery concerns or rather the battery meter. In the last few days, when charged via the mains it goes up to 100% and when I pull it off the mains it will very quickly drop to 65%....like in 5 minutes. However, if I hold down the power button and volume up button to reset then it restarts showing 100% charge and it works normally, in other words no significant battery drain.
It can't therefore be a problem with the battery as I get a full 2 days out of it. When it runs down again and I then charge it again the same thing happens.
Irritating and I'm thinking of just sending it back to be honest.

That just sounds like a defective phone. I would just exchange it for another one. Unfortunately I still have to wait a couple of weeks to get mine though.

I took delivery of the htc one S "the one I had been waiting for" as it said on the label. unboxed it and imediately thought "where is the battery"? built in didnt know that. charged it up as directed for a full charge , stopped my self from playing with it straight away. once charged fitted the new micro sim which my number had been ported to over night. turned on the phone and began the process of setting it up for the various syncing steps. set up a google account and downloaded an app called tikl push to talk as my wife has that app on her Desire. installed the app and the phone said cant install you have a unknown number programmed into your device. checked the settings phone /about / IME ... and found the phone number section marked unknown number. I ran vodafone as I thought it may be something missed on the porting process but they said no if your phone is working its not the sim its a device problem contact HTC. rang HTC they said thats an new issue they were not aware of do a factory re set that will fix it. did factory reset in the storage settings and the phone rebooted, said there was an error and turned itself off, re started itself and kept doing that over and over again I gave up rang Vodafone who are now sending me phone number 2 on Tuesday fingers crossed this one will be ok. I have never had an HTC phone before and thats why I went for the newer model thinking it must be amazing and good. I fear I may have made a terrible error of judgement. will get back when I get to grips with the replacement.
