Help lanscape/portrait switching problem

Hi
Ive had my one s for a few days now. Every so often the screen Will stay stuck in landscape mode. When you go to the calibrate screen it will show only 1 bubble not 2.

And then 2 minutes later it's fine again I showing 2 bubbles again. I've done a hard reset but hasn't helped.
Spoken to HTC but they don't think it's common problem.

Any else experience this ?

Not so far. The only freeze I've had has been once when playing Temple Run.

Have HTC got software akin to Sony's PC Companion? Is there a repair function in it that repairs the firmware via the Web instead of a hard reset?

I'm an Xperia X10 owner looking to get a 'S', so ignore me if I'm way off the mark!

Do you mean this sort of thing?

I'm not too sure what that is - sounds like HTC would remotely log into your phone to fix it.

What software do HTC provide in order to update their phones? I'm suggesting you use that to 'update' your phone. Although it won't updated it per se, but it should wipe the current build and update to the last known good software from their servers, if that makes sense? Just in case the software that was already loaded on your handset is faulty.

Might be worth a try?

I'm guessing that the " fix your phone remotely" would include the ability to wipe and then send the appropriate firmware - no idea really, I've come from a vanilla nexus one where all updates arrived ota from google.

Update. It got worse today and would keep muting on a phone call.
Got a replacement and all is fine, for now ....

Not suggesting you're :thinking:

but you weren't accidently pressing the mute button with your cheek when placing it to your ear? This has happened to me before on my HTC Desire HD so just a suggestion.
