I am a Hero user, So sorry I do not know all so much about the Driod.

But I am working of a friends phone and want to install a custom rom.

Thinking of going with this one.
[ROM] 2.1 ESE53 - DesireRemix v0.1 - Overclocked Kernel

But I can not find nandroid back up like I have on my phone when I boot in to recovery mode?

And help on what I am missing would be great!

I want to make a backup just in case,
Plus

On that site it says
"Install by copying the BDS-20100308-1659 to your SD cards Nandroid folder"

So I guess I need the nandroid folder.

Thanks!

OK, Sorry if I was not clear. As I said, I am not a droid user.

I have the Droid rooted.

Now I am trying to install a custom rom.

So I now boot in to Recovery Console..

But there is no nandroid (Its there on my hero my default)

So I guess I need to learn how to get to that point.

I think I need to flash a Custom Recovery Image?

Does his phone have SPRecovery installed? You can't do Nandroid backups and restores with the default recovery console. You'll have to flash SirPsychos' SPRecovery 0.99.2b or later in order to use the Nandroid RAR files.

If you're not sure, reboot into recovery and see what comes up. If it's the triangle icon with the exclamation point in the middle, you have the stock recovery. If it's an Android robot, you have SirPsychos'.

No, That is where things were not the same. I am use to not having to do any of that with my Hero.
