[Verizon] [ROM] BAMF Paradigm v1.3 [4.0.4] Updated 6/29/12

I took this for a test drive and it seems like a very nice and fast ROM. The UI is very clean and seamless. There's one small thing that bugs me and that's the lack of a size control for the nav buttons. I've really gotten used to the extra real estate you get having them extra small like you can do with AOKP/LS. If that's not an issue for you I think you'll enjoy this ROM.

Edit: Unless there's a way to do it and I didn't see it. I looked through settings extensively.

there isnt, i actually prefer this to aokp, it runs much smoother for me, though i probably wont have a gnex for too long if mine keeps having the issues its having.

just cant trust sammy after this

Can anyone compare battery life between aokp 31 and BAMF? Hard to do kernel wise I realize but just wondering if anybody else is seeing night/day differences like me? I really like AOKP but with both the stock and lean kernels, I get pretty severe battery drain. This hasn't been the case for me on the previous BAMF with provided kernel but I haven't yet tested the new version. Of course, I was just getting the new AOKP set up when it dropped. :)

Really wanted to let the battery cycle for several days on AOKP to be sure but I can't get too far from a charger with moderate + usage.

I'd just like to point out a few things I've noticed since installing Paradigm. I'm still on 1.0 by the way.

On the stock ROM, my Nexus would sometimes shutdown when I pulled down the notification bar.
It would sometimes reboot when typing a contact name in Gmail or when typing a URL in the browser, and Dolphin would crash too many times per day to count.

Since switching to this ROM, none of those things have occurred.

Good to know man, thanks.

Sure on battery life. B31 (stock colonel :p) is excellent. BAMF 1.2 is excellent+

Still early to tell. No night and day differences.

I've had nary an issue with B31 and battery drain. I just use my phone. I have never used these crazy apps that monitor battery and wakelocks 24/7 (well I used to with my Incredible when I first got it 2010 :p). All is well.

Is there no option to skip tracks with screen off vol rocker? I guess that's not important to most but it's a huge oversight to me and a deal breaker. Would have flashed it today otherwise. I'm sure they don't care though since everyone is gushing.

There is no option and I'm sure they care. This is only the 3rd version right? BAMF is very distinct and contrasting from aokp/ls/cm.

It's very well built. Some will notice this, others won't and say "huh, no haz nav bar modz screw taht!"

Yes it lacks a good many customizations that we have all grown accustomed to on custom ICS ROMs and the GN. However, it's well oiled, super clean, and highly polished. Kind of like a more "professional" ROM if you will.

A different flavor of ice cream.

I stick to what I know like most of us will. That is aokp. But this thing is too seXy to pass up and not enjoy :D it really is that good.

Couldn't agree more jb. It's got it's own flava b/c it's custom pretty much all the way. Quality devsmanship IMO. And of all the kernels out there that have 80k views, I still think Adrynalyne's are the best...and he doesn't even post them on forums anymore as a standalone download from what I can tell. He's always been sharp with HQ kernels.

Yup After my first 30 or so hours with it Adryns kernel pulls some impressive numbers and performance today. On 4G, especially, it sips battery nicely... that is what stood out the most to me today.

I have noticed some improvement in the radios. I can't confirm that its a direct result of this Rom as this is the first on my Gnex, but given that I have read how many people have issues, it's definitely worth a look see.

I have an AT&T tower literally 35 ft from the house and had issues inside my home with an avg of around -110dbm and -120 in the basement until I got a good 100 ft away then it soared to around -90. It maintains easily -100 and I had several periods last night while streaming the hockey playoff games where it was in the -90.

Nice battery improvement too, significantly better than the stock. I had streaming radio on last night like stated above and for a full hockey game it dropped about 31% [98 at beginning and at 67 at finish] from start to finish, a HUGE improvement from prior where I didn't dare listen to or watch a game without it plugged in.

This being my first ROM on this phone and the included kernel, it's going to be really hard to leave it and try something new.

I hope this helps anyone on the fence.

Just download the 1.2 and go. This was the very first flash for this phone so I'm pretty excited it is so smooth and well built. From what everyone has said about Adryn's work being top notch, I'm sold for sure.

I haven't even begun experimenting with kernels yet. That's after my move.
lol.

Sounds great man. I may try it, but also waiting for Redemption 1.3 which should be dropping soon.

Only negative thing I heard about this ROM, if you want to really consider it one, is that Lightflow custom colors do not work. That is a bummer for me but don't know if its a total show stopper yet.

Can anyone running this ROM confirm or deny this? :p

Thanks!
